We just heard the news that my daughter-in-law is pregnant and the baby is due in October, well October 18th. So since my husband's birthday is on the 25th, it would be a nice present for him, since the baby will be born on the same month. I am a bit nervous because she had a ghost baby and I hope this is for real this time. Any way I was worried that she would never get pregnant again because she is in her thirties. So I am counting the months till the baby comes.
I just hope that when he or she gets older he or she will not be resentful that on the same month the birthday present come, grandpa also gets one as well.

Congrats! Welcoming a new baby to the world is always an exciting time. Even as the pregnancy progresses, I think the nerves will be there. Sharing birthdays really isn't fun, but sharing birth months is pretty cool. My son was born August 12th, 2002, and then five years later his little sister was born August 11th, 2007... He didn't like that idea that they were so close because they will have to share a party and so on. But once we explained to him that it wasn't our choice, and God gave him his birthday present early, he was happy about it. ( Our daughter wasn't to be born for another month and half later)

My son asked for a sister for his birthday, and got her. He has enjoyed having a little sister that is almost exactly three years younger. They both enjoy being Thanksgiving babies, we have huge family celebrations.

Congragts on the good news! That is really awsome that your new grandchild will be born in the same month. It does not surprise me however that she got pregnant in her thirties. Women actually have trouble when they are closer to the age of forty. I am sure the new grandchild will not be resentful, its not his fault that he was conceived at this time.

I sure hope its a boy. Girls run her family, but I do not know about my sons's because we adopted them. I am so glad. At least it gives me time to save for the birth.

Good point jessicapark7435 ... I got pregnant with both my kids (girl that turns 3 in June, and the one I am carrying right now) both while I was in my early thirties :)

It is just for me, that things went wrong. Because of my first boyfriend getting my pregnant and giving me Vd at the same time, I was unable to get past one miscarriage and I married when I was 29, so of course I was worried.

WEll Congratulations - that must be so exciting! How awful for your daughter in law to go through a Phantom Pregnancy, I know they are very rare but oh so devastating when they happen - I would think having gone through that before that the Drs will be making sure that everything is ok this time around. I was in my thirties when I had my second and when I was a nanny I worked for a first time mother who had a beautiful healthy baby at 42 so I wouldn't worry about her age! xxxx

I will not worry that much. If it were me, I would because I am large boned and it seems with us, babies are hard to come by.

That's wonderful!! Congratulations to your family!
I was 33 when I had my first baby so I wouldn't be nervous if I was you. The only time women have real trouble is when they start having babies in their 40's.

I am still worried. I know my daughter-in-law will be all right, but I did not get married until I was almost 29 and I had a miscarriage and that was it. So I worried through her first pregnancy, and I will probably worry through this one.

I sure am. He is so cute. looks like my son and was born on October 12, that is our thanksgiving Day here in Canada. Not only that, but my husband's niece also had her daughter the same day. So there are two new members of our extended family. That was a real surprise for us!

I had the special experience of sharing my birth month with my grandpa. A child would not resent it unless he is taught to resent it. Later I had a nephew and niece that shared my birthday month. My kids share November. We just enjoy them as extra special family times. Good luck on the new child.

That is a different story. No celebration there. In my first marriage we paid car insurance every six months, for my birthday and for his.

At least, this time, we have no car insurance. We gave the car to our daughter-in-law.

I had to share my birthday with the month we had to pay our auto and house insurance. Did not like that so much.

My husband has Lou Gehrig's disease and we do not know how long he has. Right now he is doing exercises but the disease is still going on and if the muscle stopped is his heart, he could go anytime, so we were lucky that he has a chance to see the grandchildren. Our grandson is very chunky, looks like his daddy. And he is so alert.

He was born in October and now my other daughter-in-law is expecting her first grand child. We were teasing her a lot because twins also run in her family, but she got the ultrasound and it is one. We do not know if it is boy or a girl, so have to see how things turn out. Anyway we are so excited.

I was unable to have a baby when I got married and I was in my late twenties, I think it was because of my getting vd and also about my also having a serious case of the flu and the social norms that said men only want to marry virgins and if a girl confessed she was not one - well we did adopt and our sons looked more like me then my husband (yes they are going to have the same weight problems when they grow older as I have. grr!!)
Well our grandson is so cute, and he looks just like daddy.

Congratulations. I know how you feel. I am going to be a grandma this year too. But for me it is my first grandchild and I think long overdue as I am going to be 52 years old this year and I have wanted a grandchild for about 10 years now.
My son and my daughter-in-law are 34 years old and have been married and living together for about 8 years now so I am very happy about it. They waited till they owned their own home and set financially, which is smart of them. She is a nurse at the St. Boniface Hospital and he is self employed and doing well.
Yes, they live in Winnipeg and I live in Calgary so that part sucks but it will work out. I will just have to fly to Winnipeg more often than I do now even though I fly to Winnipeg about 4 times a year now. I will have to fly there about 8 times a year now. That's okay too because it is so cheap now to fly. With WestJet I usually can get a flight for $250 return. It used to cost me about $600 return.

My son is born in 1976 and his wife is in his 30s. My other son is also married and his wife is expecting. Well the baby, Landon was born on October 12. They wanted children right away as soon as they were married. I do not like the idea of waiting until one is financially set and owns a home as sometimes you may not get a home until much later and then there is no baby.
I have friends who because they did not wait until they had lots of money and owned their own homes who have five or more children and the only ones who do not are ones that had medical problems or tubal pregnancies that prevented them from having any more.
But of course, my husband wanted to wait, but we tried the first year, but had problems and we had to adopt. I thought it was my fault because of my getting vd, but when we went to see the doctor at the Deer Lodge Center, he said that we were lucky I did not get pregnant was because of my sister-in=law alsohaving Lou Gehrig's disease and my husband also having it, there was a good chance of any children we would have had having the same condition later on in life and perhaps sooner,
But I sure wish that horrible social worker who took over from the one who arranged the adoption of our twins did not decide I was an unfit parent because I would have minded if a daughter I had had run wild like I did.

I was unlucky. Because of various factors, Vd, and possibly a bad attack of the flu, the doctor saying that he would help me get pregnant by opening up my tubes and having another purpose, sealing them up, plus a so called friend who would not let me get checked out to see if anything was wrong when I suspected, I could not bear any children after my marriage. So we had to adopt and I wanted to adopt children from the same ethnic group as I was so there would be at least on my side a resemblance. My grandson looks like his dad who looks something like my brother when he was younger. He has his dad's hair color and facial features and is so cute.

First off let me say congrats on the new grandbaby that your going to have. I just had a baby two month ago so I know how excited you all must be. As far as your grandbaby resenting having a b-day the same month as his papa, I don't think he will. My nephew and my dads birthday are actually one day apart, and they love it. My nephew likes knowing that him and my dad;s b-day is in the same month vs any of the other grandkids. He feels special. I hope your grandbaby enjoy's knowing that him or her feel in the same month as there wonderful grandpa, and there is plenty of love and gifts to go around. Enjoy your grandbaby, and I hope all goes well.

It will be easier for me to remember. Of course, I wished he were born on my husband's birthdy, our grandson was born on Thanksgiving day here in Canada so that was a good Thanksgiving present and my husband's niece also gave birth to a baby girl on the same day so now we have two new grandchildren. Not only that, but we are expecting another one in July. Our other daughter-in-law is expecting her first.

He is growing like a weed. He is almost three months old and wearing six months clothes so he is going to a big boy when he grows up. My daughter-in-law had a home birth like she had with the first. The only problem is that he might inherit her allergy to carrots, oregano, parsley, celery, and cilantro.

Our sons told us that they will visit us more often. So that means I get to see Landon more then just every month or so. And my older son shaved off his goatee.

The baby came on October 12th and it was a boy. He looks just like his father and even has the same expression and looks like him when he goes to sleep with his little arms up the same way.
Oh and what did you have?

Congrats on the upcoming grandbaby!! My youngest grandson and I share the same birthday month...actually his birthday is four days before mine...and we have a combination him & me party every year...but it's a lot more him than it is me considering HE'S the one who likes Sponge Bob the most and most of the guests are closer to his age than mine. His mom...my daughter...has always told him how special it is that his birthday is so close to Nan's so don't fret. Life is about attitude and if you make sharing a birthday with your grandpa a special thing, it will always be a special thing.

He was born on Thanks giving day. Our Canadian thanksgiving which is in October. He has auburn hair and looks just like his daddy. (Oh the goatee and beard will probably come when he is around 16 or so, so we have a long way to go there ) He is very chunky and cute.

Yes it has. I have a new grandson born in October, on Thanksgiving day. Oh and my husband's niece also had her baby girl born on the same day in Germany. So that was a double surprise.
