Just saw on the news that government has made retailers stop seeling kids motorcycles because they are afraid they will LICK!!! YES I SAID LICK!! the gears and valve covers which apparently contain lead paint! OKAY!! I figure if my kid is actually likcking the gears on his dirt bike, lead poisoning might be the least of my concerns! I swear it's the funniest, STUPIDEST thing i have ever heard. Some kid had on a T shirt that said "I promise I won't eat it, I just want to ride it!" HHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!! OMG!!!!!

OMG, that is too funny! Are they going to stop selling anything that comes in an aerosol spray can, too, since kids have been known to sniff it? What about glue...paint...and hey, don't forget gasoline! I love the tee shirt and, yes, it's the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard!

I'm with you on this one, if your kid is licking the gears of his bike...he's got bigger problems then lead posioning!! Makes me wonder if their not working on banning all transportation eventually...maybe we'll have to go back to bicycles or horses.

This is the first I am hearing this but I am not surprised. You see the government feels they must police the public because we are not capable of making our own choices. The Government likes to tell everyone what to do while polititions do what ever they want.
Kids on bike must wear helmets. Adults on motocycles must wear helmets. It doesn't matter what the adults want. The seat belt law is the same way. The government doesn't pay our hospital bills nor do they pay our insurance. However, they feel that since we make bad choices they will make it a law so that everyone is protected.
I personally can not understand why anyone child or not would want to like a motorcycle. Besides if a child is old enough to ride one of these toys it is old enough to know right from wrong. I also think the government should get it's polititions in order before worrying about the rest of us poor dumb people. Just my opinion.
My daughter was riding a bike before the helmet law was in effect and she doesn't have any brain damage, from any fall she took off the bike. My brother has riden a motorcyle for over fifteen years before the helmet law and he is just fine as well. The government needs to but out.

Great minds think alike. I heard this story as well and feel the same as you do about it:
