How nice it would be if we have a spell check at our favourite site Mylot! Spelling mistates are commmited sometimes or more often while typing the disussions, and we cannot also be carrying dictionary with us to the places where we browse and write articles and post discussions for mylot. Therefore this idea of having a spell check at the site may be taken note of.

You can download IeSpell and that might help you out with your spelling mistakes and errors when responding to a discussion or starting a discussion here on mylot. I have this and somehow it is in with my browser and every time i misspell a word a red line will be underneath of it and i can go back and fix all of them, so I'm not looking like a person who doesn't know how to spell words or something and I'm glad I'm not the one who does this.

I think it depends on your browser. What I mean is the browser that you use as you open mylot. In my case, I am using firefox. As I type the words and its an error, I will definitely know considering that it will underline the words with spelling error. This definitely saves me time and takes out the spellings errors.

I think a spell check would be a great idea. alot of times I make a typo or spelling error and dont catch it untill after I have posted so it would be very helpful.

besides the spelling mistakes, i think the using of punctuations should aslo be concerned ,when it is punctuated, the meaning of some long statements will become clear. i often find some response and discussions difficulty to understand.

I agree! I just realized that I spelled something wrong in the title of my first discussion. Now I can't fix it. Is there a way to edit something once it's been posted? Or do I just have to leave it and look like an idiot?

I would really love it if there was an option that let you go into something more similar to a blog post word processor for long posts. That way you could check things like spelling and grammar easy on larger posts but still had the same simplicity on shorter ones.

If you use the FireFox browser it has a spell check program built into it. You can even edit it or add words to it. I think its pretty funny that their own spell check program shows that the name of the browser is misspelled. That's irony at its best! You can always type longer replies in Word or Works then cut and paste them into the submission box but I think that is only after you ready 500 posts. The implemented that to try and cut down on spam and canned replies to discussions.

Yes, that would be great! i mean, we can't avoid the fact that we commit mistakes at times(typo errors, etc).. i must admit that i commit mistakes most of the time.. i don't re-read to check whether i've typed in someting wrongly or something.. =) i hope mylot would add a spelling checker soon and yes, a grammar checker too.. that would be great for non-english speaking countries..

yeah,it will be good if we have a spell check here.Sometimes we made some mistakes by using some dictionaries we can easily rectify it and give the correct meaning of a word.

If you don't have a spelling checker download one which will suit your browser. I am using Mozilla Firefox and it has a spelling checker so i don't have to worry if i do get wrong spelling here because it will get a red underline.
No need for you to carry a dictionary to check the spelling, the best is to just search it online and find the best spelling checker for you.

Yes what a nice suggestion we can add to my lots suggestion box. I have told them about several ideas.
It is nice sometimes when I useing firefox I like it because before I post I can correct my spelling errors.
But Internet Explorer is different. But it be nice if we just had one included in hear.
IDEA for thought: They can redesign the post comment box where we type in and give us a font tool like in microsoft word. Font choice size color and spell check would be great. The word art tool would be a nice feature also. Just a suggestion. Jazz things up a little color in our font and style.

I read want I'm writing so that I can check whether I misspelled the word or my grammar is wrong. Sometimes it's hard when you are non-english speaker. For my experience I don't bring dictionary to check my spelling. I want to try to guess what the spelling of the word I'm thinking. This sites is very helpful for me because I practice my english and my grammar. I know I'm not perfect and I'm not a good writer. The important things is as long as I can express my thoughts here in mylot whether my spelling is wrong or my grammar is bad it doesn't matter.

I agree with that- it wouldn't be unreasonable either.
I do think, however, that they already have one. Right now, for example, I've made a few typing errors but caught them because of MyLot's red-underlining technique, which is highly effective.
Are there any areas in which they DON'T have the red-line spell check? That MIGHT be plausible as not all sites have spell checks on every part of their site. Also, FYI, if you're writing something like an informative article, you can always type it up on Microsoft Word or similar, which will get the job done.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you've found a part of their site that doesn't have a spell-checker...I'll also look through your other user comments on this discussion as well.
Regards,

No offense, but in that case we'll also need a grammar checker. Because your second to last sentence is all over the place. View your sentence below... :)
"We cannot also be carrying dictionary with us to places where we browse and write articles and post discussions for mylot."
But I like where you're going with this topic.

Hey there! I don't think mylot admin, if they will read your suggestion, will consider that. I think you are using Internet Explorer as your browser. You should use Firefox instead. It has a spell check but not grammar check. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!
