Ants!

Every year as soon as the warm weather hits, ants invade my house. I have done everything to make sure that they don't come back. I bleached everything, put opened dry foods in the fridge(cereals, crackers, etc) but to no avail. I even tried the home remedies from people like putting soap by their entrance and other ideas. I got ant traps, but the ants seem to know what they are and completely avoid them. If i do find a way to block their entrance, they just find a new one. I have used sprays before, but I don't like them because I have kids and pets, and I like to breathe, too. lol. I have made my place sparkle and they still come in. I can't even figure out what they're after because there's nothing to get. lol. Anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to get rid of them? Please remember that there are kids and pets in the home. Someone suggested a chalk line, but i would have to rub the chalk all over the walls for that to work. lol. so, what do you do and does this bother anyone else as it does me? it drives me crazy and makes me feel like the house isn't clean. lol

Salt also helps to keep ants away. I had to sprinkle a bit of it on the windowsill of my dorm room a few years ago, and it worked.

That's my number one dilemma too.. there are ants everywhere! i hate it, i really do.. what i did was i bought a baygon chalk that promise to get rid of those annoying insects(ants and roaches).. i drew lines where they usually go and i'm still waiting for the outcome.. but beware.. keep it away from food, drinks, animal food and stuffs.. avoid skin contact and inhaling of chalk as it can be dangerous to health..

so...i should wear gloves, a gas mask on me, hubby and kids, and put muzzles on my pets? lol. I hope it works for you, i just couldn't help but laugh at the cautions. Thanks for your reply. if I find the stuff I might try it.
