Would you run a marathon? are there better ways to prove yourself?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. If I needed something to talk about at a party, I'd talk about comic books, and if someone i was sitting next to me started telling me they ran a marathon, I'd find an excuse to go to the ladies room (stay there for a while). I think if that's the extent of your spiritual development, you're in dire need of much meditation. Also most of the marathons like in the US there's a big money making affairs for the promoters, and the sponsors. I'm sure there are a whole lot of diverse opinions out there, please share it here.
