I moved into my Aunt and Uncles home about 2 and 1/2 mts ago, and they own 2 dogs. My dog Chewy is buddies with 1 of the dogs.(his buddy is a shepard rot mix) The other dog is a chow. He growls and snips at her not all the time but enough. I think it has to do with the fact when I 1st moved in, the chow did nothing but snip at Chewy. All Chewy would do is go from sitting on the floor to standing and she would run after him and start growling and what not. Chewy was 3mts old than and now is 5mts old and he trys to play with the chow and she doesnt like it and when the chow trys to come into the living room or my Uncles room Chewy will snip at her and growl than leave her alone. Chewy also wont let the chow into my kids room either. Is it a dominance thing?

Probably so. We used to have a rat terrier, who are known for being territorial. He got along really well with my son's dog...who was a boxer/Rott mix. But when we moved to a new house, He didn't like my mother's dog at all. I think it had something to do with the fact that for the first several months we lived there, he would growl and bark at ME everytime I walked close to the dividing fence. George didn't like anyone growling at his mama.
