i'm not trying to be intolerant or to compliment racism, but when it comes to muslims, i believe that some times we getoushed around! for example, i went to Tunisia, a few years back and tried my darmnest not to offend their costums, but then i started noticing, when they come here (Europe), they don't really try not to offend us. i tried to be all dressed, not showing toomuch skin etc, and their women come dressed in burkas, wich to mostof ourpeople is very offensive. Plus they get to comment and 'make fun' of sme of our costums, and i believe they are entitled to, but then get upset when we question theirs, as they do ours... Am i seeing it all wrong? do you also feel this way?

I think people often confuse the words tolerance and compromise. Just because you tolerate something, doesn't mean you have to compromise your values to accomdate theirs. I tolerate peoples beliefs and do not get offended if somebody is different than me. That's what people want, after all. They have to remembber that they need to tolerate me, too. I will not compromise my beliefs just so i don't offend anyone. That defeats the purpose of teaching tolerance of others. I'm not trying to change anyone, but I'm also not going to change myself to appease others lifestyles. I think if you visit another country you can be respectful with out trying to be just like them. We have people that come into our country and they keep wearing the same clothes and eating the same food. I don't mind it at all. I think it's great to see other cutltures in our country. :)

thank you for your in put, maybe i didn't explain myself right, what upsets me is that it seems that sometimes people expect for their costums to be respected but have no intention of respecting others. happy easter!
