Is it important to have a big wedding

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years now. We want to get married but he wants a big wedding. It is very expensive these days to have a big wedding all i am interested in getting married, and living a complet life. He says he has plenty of friends and wants all of them to be invited. I believe now in the time we living in, u do't know if u will c tomorrow it is more important to get married, than thinking of a big wedding. What do u think?

we had a bigger wedding just because my parents were paying for it, i am an only child and they invited a lot of their friends. if i had to do it on my own, i would elope and have a party when i come back.
