Well, this is one controversial topic,I have to admit at the very beginning. This one is about the battle of Tibet's independence. For quite time now,we have seen some protests are being made by the people of Tibet seeking their independence. The China Government is in no mood to let this happen.Protests were even made during the 2008 Olympics.Other International countries are also keeping their eyes on the whole issue.
I am from India and I know how does it feel to be under the bondage of some other country. The people of China should feel the same as they were also under the ruling of the British. Moreover, firing at people protesting peacefully cannot be supported.
I have nothing to say about China or its people.I look upon them as my neighbors.I also believe that Dalai Lama himself should have taken more proactive stance to solve this problem. What do you people feel about it?Feel free to share your views.

I am from china, and i have to explain something to you.
Tibet has been a part of china for hundreds of years, there is no "invade" like some countries said, and tibetan is not under bondage.
Tibet is a municipality by zang people(tibetan in english)in china now, accroding to the constitution of the people's repubulic of china.
As much as i know, most of the tibetan don't want tibet to be abruptioned from china and they supprot the constitution. What they concerned is their old culture is being destroied by the modernization, and the rights from constitution is not well enforced.
This is a problem that all China faces to,not just Tibet.
I admit that china is not a society with democracy, but it is not as bad as you thought. The goverment does not like any protest, wheher in tibet or not.some tibetan want independence, but it is just tiny miority.china's fault is don't allow them to claim or propagandize...but is it a truely fault?none of the goverments want a abruption.
The religion in tibet...The goverment of china is lazy about religion affairs since china is found. The emperor or communist party, they don't care about in essence, until the religion orgnizations want to control the politics.
Please belive me that there is not racial oppression in china.even somebody has,not the goverment.
In china most people don't like the goverment very much, zang people(tibetan),han people(the main race of china),and others like uygur,manchu...we are all not satisfied with the goverment, but western countries is more annoying when they are in our own affairs.
I really wonder who tell the bondage in tibet to you and many other people.Someone must tell the lie.And China has never been ruled by British people, anyhow, only a litte part has been colonial ruled (Hong Kong).
And I like India very much,we can be good neighbours.
My english is not good,I think there must be some mistake in the response, and i'm sorry for that.

Hi ajin728,thanks for commenting on this serious matter and I really want to thank you for this explanation.Well,I admit I had some misconceptions about the whole matter and those things were cleared by you.Despite of neighbors,we know so less about each other and that is a shame for sure.I just can tell you one thing being under a democratic government that all the governments are same you know.I just believe that no blood should be shed in this world due to such protests and all that.We have enough of blood sheds you know.

Good evening~is it in night in india?
About the topic,do you mean the event happened in 3.14 last year before Beijing Olympics?
As much as I know,at the begining, the monks in tibet start to protest peacefully before it,but because of the government want to put it down by some measures, strong but not too rough. But the lamas and some tibetans began to take some violent action for opposing.
They began to set fire, hit immigrators and other people with strones. In the comflict many civilian were injured by the angry mobs who are racist but once was "protestors".
Most of the injured are Han people from east of china, and some were killed.
(According to the released figure by government,383 civilians were injured,18 were killed,242 policemen and soldiers were injured.)
Government of china did something wrong, but not the most wrong.
There are some video

altough you can't under what it said, you can see it.
BBC,CNN,ABC,DWTV....almost all of the western medias, they lied. They want all the world have a prejudice of china...
Maybe the world konw too less about us,such as you, neighbour.
I wonder why...
Is china a really mystery country?
