Why r scientists using alternate methods to fix da CO2 rather than 2 plant trees

a week ago i saw nat geo or discovery channel there i saw that scientists and researchers have started making machines that can extract co2 from the atmosphere and can fix it as solid Co2 but thats to expensive they only said....from my side planting trees is the best way to fix Co2 from the atmosphere but then also why r they trying to research some other methods...why????

I will also ask that, according to a scientist do this because it can save natural resources in the world and save people from various diseases. If natural resources are not sparing in the long run and will be exhausted, then the world will be destroyed and no longer remains. Plants can change the air (O2) into CO2, and can harm humans if we are close to the plant. Planting more trees to help us to avoid from the blazing sun and skin disease occur when a blazing sun directly.

Oh! I apologize, because I know that trees inhale O2 manage its CO2 to be at night and return to the O2 at the time of the morning / afternoon. But, I still seem to know less in it. May need someone to answer it. Thank you for letting me know my mistakes in my posts.
