French fries are not from France. I have heard of this since I am a kid and its claimed that Belgians were the first to cook potatoes in the French way.

Belgium is in the middle of France and Germany. The first Belgians were from France (they used to be called the Flanders).
So in Belgium, they speak three languages: Flemish, French and German.
My bf is a Belgian guy so I know a little bit of his country.

Hahaha, another one of the wonders of the world. If you wanted me to reply this without doing any research, i'd say...Maybe french people cut potatoes up and then fry them in oil. Since they were fried, why not call them fries and with that, French fries came about...hahahah...
