Slumdog Millionaire is a good movie for me. If you are a critic, many would agree to me.
The movie was about a simple life yet too diffucult to imagine, but it is really happenning to our world. The movie at first was kinda boring, but when you understand fully its content it becomes an interesting movie.
There are many lessons in life to be learned in the movie. And the actors are great eventough they are not that "well known".
It gives us an idea what the world really is....It is true, most of the country have a sindicate like that and the goverment do nothing about it.
But If you have courage and you are willing to do right. You will succeed in the end. As Jamal brother said "God is Great".

It was an ok movie, maybe they wanted to give the opportunity to foreign countries to be displayed in someway.
The storyline was good, maybe it is because we're used to all the Hollywood majestic that involves from actors, to scenery, to big budgets, etc, to prevail in this event.

It was a great story and an inspiring film. It presented what it would be like to live in a far side of the planet away from the influence of the modern technology. Maybe some people who are used to Hollywood films won't accept it but slumdog millionaire pictures out the true sentiments of the people in the third world countries, it summarizes the struggle and sad plight of the poorest of the poor.
I understand the story well because me too came from Philippines, an Indian neighbor which belongs to the third world country. Sometimes it is very agonizing to see this reality, but this thing really happened on the other side of the planet, maybe Slumdog Millionaire is the only low-budgeted "slum"theme movie that successfully captures hollywood that's why people who are not used to this type of film are wondering what it is.

see if u r talkin about d whole movie than u r absolutely rite dat it is not a movie deservin for 8 oscars.
but dere were some scenes really attractive dat i can't hold to say dat what a wonderful scene it is???
n see oscars r not given to d whole movie bt to a particular work like music, lyrics, cinematography, etc. and oscars given to an particular field for dis movie is absolutely deserving.

I watched the movie out of curiousity, wondering how it won so many awards. It turned out to be an ok movie, its not even the kind of "feel good" movie that I expected it to be. My husband and friend who was watching it with me even fell asleep hehehe The lesson in the movie was good, the plot was ok (not the kind that would keep you to your feet), the way they feature the life of the poor people was an eye-opener. I felt happy for the character, he did deserve to win the prize and get his girl. Some people are poor simply because they were not given the opportunity to change their lives. But I still don't understand why is was called a "must-see" movie.

i have never seen the movie yet but i ask some people about the story and all their reactions are quiet good to them. Even the director of the movie was not a well known to the public but they have catch the movie viewer for the film they made.

I totally agree with you !
The movie was alright , one time watch !
It definitely wasnt 8 Oscar material for sure , in my humble opinion.
Many better movies have been made , which deserved better recognition than what Slumdog received . As Mylotters have said , definitely an over rated film .
I hope in future , genuinely good movies get Oscars and not the ones which are over hyped .
