Books tell me what to say sometimes

If there was a "quote police" i would be in big trouble. I like to read a lot about different stuff. I basically read what I can find. I have often caught myself quoting from the books I have read. Some situations or conversations call for them sometimes and I just wanna be able to share them. People think of me as wise when I say some things that they really needed to hear and of course I would be thankful within myself to have read from those books. I know that when you get something from print it's called plagiarism. What do you think what I'm doing is called?
