An interesting thing

I am a man and I have that habit too, that is embarrassing to say but I have to admit it lol! Well, not everywhere I go and there is a mirror or the reflection of a car window etc. that check my image. Most of the time is at my work, when I get into an elevator and it has the huge mirror at the back, I always take a catch a glimpse of myself, however, I only do that when I am the only one in the elevator. I just make a short glance, without changing my direction or decreasing my speed. I imagine the woman you talked about was imitating the stepmother in fairy tale " Snow White", lol.

I think most women will care about their looks:) As to me, when I pass the mirror, I will glance myself quickly:) I won't stop there and look at myself carefully and check every part of me. I love China

Some persons especially women are greatly concerned with their physical appearance and have the habit of frequently checking their face,hair,nail and physical posture. The inherent tendency to frequently viewing and reviewing one's physical appearance is to draw attention,create impression and entice others around. There is nothing wrong and unusual in this process of adding value to one's personality and look. However,I do like to reveal and express my natural look and personality,without caring to take the help of cosmetics and artificial make-ups.Thanks.

Good observation you got. But I think this applies not only to women but to almost all of us. If passing by something were we can see our reflection we always have the tendency to look at our appearance and perhaps see if we look good. I think this is normal considering that we always have this characteristic of making ourselves look good and presentable.

I used to do that when I was young, but not any more. I think maybe when you are younger you are sub-consciously insecure about your appearance, and are looking for reassurance. I also think that it applies to men as much as women. As you get older, hopefully you have come to terms with the way you look, and don't have to keep checking!

well, girls have this habit and this is subconscious. even i tend to look into the mirror. through the corner of my eye look into the mirror to see if i am looking as i was looking while leaving home.
