Well, Java was never meant to replace C++. I agree that Java is really cool and its much easier to program in Java than in C++..So given a problem that can be solved using either Java or C++, I would definitely go for Java :)

Sorry for my opinion if not meet you favor. I hear some people like to work on c++ they say c is the best, easy to converting and works in linux as well. im not sure, as long this i'm used VB6 as my programing language.

I also feel the same , java is the best, easier to work, easy debugging

i personally feel java is better .because the concept of multi threading is not available in C++..and it is platform independent and it opposses the multiple inheritance concept

Well,cant really compare the two..both have their merits and demerits..if u think of writing Web applications , Java is a better choice than C++ however C++ definitely rules over Java when it comes to stuff like system programming.
