Got a great deal on the Sunday paper, so I can start clipping coupons again

I was at the grocery store the other night and they were doing a deal on the Sunday paper. You can get it delivered to your home for $8.08 for 5 weeks. You can cancel it any time and they were giving you 2 store gift cards for $5 each. I was shopping on "Spend $50 get $10 off night" to begin with, so I saved $20 that night by signing up. I am sure I will be able to find enough coupons every week to cover the $1.61 that the paper is going to cost me. It is $1.50 at the store, so it is really only costing me 11 cents to have it delivered every week. Do you clip coupons? Do you get the paper delivered to your house or do you go pick it up?

I think tha tuyoui have got a great deal going there. I only buy a newspaper on sundays but we do not have - or very rarely - coupons to clip. I wish that we did as I would love to do it. I hope that it goes well with you.

We get the paper delivered on a daily basis. Personally, I really don't care about the paper as I get all my news from tv and the internet. But, my brother likes sitting down and reading the paper (he needs his sports section with all the statistics.) We do clip coupons, and you're right that usually you can find and use enough coupons to cover the cost of the paper, so why not. There aren't too many things that pay for themselves nowadays.

A cheaper way to get coupons is to go to a recycling center and get them out of the paper bins. We used to go all the time and get at least 20 - 30 packs of inserts. The people there don't really care as long as you don't mess up the stacks and you recycle the inserts when you've clipped out the coupons you want. Another thing you can try is a weekly swap. Get together with people who are avid clippers and swap packs; if you have no need for baby coupons, surely there is someone that is. We had a group in San Diego and it was pretty cool because we knew what others needed so we'd clip them out for them. It was a fun couple of hours and we'd meet at the park, Starbucks, library or where ever there was enough room. Happy clipping!
