Do you think that world conditions can change for the better ?

Now this is perhaps my most controversial topic ever and I know the Christian enthusiast will get at me for these views which Disclaimer : might not necessarily be mine. Now I have seen many persons march and hold prayer vigil in the name of better world conditions .I know that their intentions are good but I am wondering if they actually help. My reason for saying this is that once I was in my studies of the bible I came across a school of thought that this world and system of things was earmarked for destruction and only God can bring a change via his new system of things. In addition I learned that when we pray we must pray for this system of things (which is Satan’s system) to end but not necessarily a betterment of this system as that would be asking God to help the betterment of Satan's system. Now based on this view point I ask the question again Do you think that world conditions can get better via things like prayer and peace march or if you think things can get better but not via the methods I have mentioned ,please state them. And please remember that I am just trying to stimulate discussion ,not necessarily impose view or change perception

Who knows it might make them feel better about things. Most people are helpless in this situation and the only thing they can do is pray to god for help.It is a sight better than food riots and if they truly beleave god can help encourage them.Personally it is up to the worlds stock market that has made this situation as dire as it is.The greed of banks ect and people taking on debt they could never ever repay.{not everyone }.Hey if a pray will help then I might look skyward my self and offer up a few words. All around me my friends are losing their landlines telephones as they cannot pay the bills anymore.Businesses are going bust.People work in the banks and finance houses where we live.So they may have had everything once but they are slowly losing everything.A lot of older people rely on the interest on their savings to survive.Good hard working people who have never claimed anything in benefits and have gone without so they can have a comfortable retirment. It is awful for them and heartbreaking to watch.I think I might give it a try,Take care love suzzy3xx.

So you are saying that God may have already preplanned our destruction and that we should focus our energy on distancing Satan instead of praying for the world's salvation? I don't know if I have understood correctly pleas let me know if I haven't and I guess this depends on how you perceive God and the Universe. Keep in mind that this is only my opinion; Christianity advocates God as being outside of ourselves running the world whereas I perceive us as being a part of God and all of our energies together are God, therefore if we all combine our energies in prayer we could indeed change the world. I think it is the power of love that can change the world and we should pray to help us focus on love. I imagine if the whole world was focused on nothing but love this planet would be a peaceful and happy place to be; there would not be hatred and wars and people would use their energy on trying to understand each other instead of killing each other. It sounds naive, I know but it could be so simple, to put our weapons down and show some compassion and understanding.

Yes that is what I gathered from my earlier studies of the bible. I never viewed us as part of God in that way .I have always thought of God as a separate entity just as all of us are individuals.Based on your philosophy though it would be possible for all us to change our collcetive destiny if we all did so in unison. I find your philosophy quite informitive ..I dont agree but it was interesting reading ur views .Thank you for responding

All depends on the people living in the said world. If only "I" can change to "We", then everything would definitely change for the better. I don't believe in peace marches or nights vigils, etc., but I strongly believe in the Bible, which is the Word of God. Prayer definitely helps and this I say with complete confidence. I've gone though so many problems in the last five years and my God has helped me at each and every stage. Remember it is Satan who gives problems, but Jesus who helps you overcome it. Just get into this site every day (jesuscalls.com). I'm sure you will be helped by it.

i think if everyone would pray for betterment right where they are & it would do just as much good maybe more than the marches. i think sometimes the marches & all that carrying on some of them do just causes more problems.

well i bet i can get more people upset at me.. i see it as yeah prayers do work, but the trouble with this world is. 1: too many people think everyone should be like them, so they complain alot about dumb things, such as not calling a christmas tree that, but a family tree or whatever, 2: people are to greddy, they want and want.. rich will keep getting rich off us poor people like me. 3; no has resepct no more for others 4: people need to worry about more imporant things not if two gays want to get married, like for real who cares.. 5: we need to worry about our own country before worry about others, feed the people in our country before others. 6; back to church things, more people need to stop being fake and treat others as Jesus would.. stop judging others, because at the end it dont matter what anyone think about me but GOD and JESUS.

In my everday prayer I always pray to God That His will be done for this world. I do add that I do think that man's free will has gone too far and that would He please impose His will on the world.
