Adding Mature Content in the tag line when the subject is not mature

I have been here for a while and I notice that whenever the subject is about cooking that part of a chicken, and someone writes the word chicken br*st out in full (without the asterisk, etc) someone will write "mature content" on the tag line. This makes the discussion such as how to cook it, how long does it keep, what is your favorite part of the chicken, etc. no longer accessible to the younger members here who are no doubt just starting to leave home or are in high school and are learning how to prepare economical meals, either for themselves or their friends and of course, some of them are like me, Rachel Ray fans.
So before someone writes the word "mature content" think about it. If it is not about s*x, women with no clothes on, and adult stuff not suitable for teenagers, it is not mature content.

i think that some responders here at mylot do not understand what "mature content" means. they thought that the subject are only for people who are already mature to understand the subject. you see there are asians who are not so well adept to the english language. so, i hope you would forgive them.

I also think most times it is not the people who add the tags and it is the censor that mylot put it on automatically with some of the words. One of the good thing is that there will be a tag called mature content. I think most times it is word oriented that makes the tag come automatically. I think may be it is better to add asterisk in between.

It was not me who wrote the word, it is one of the responders (maybe she or he did not want her daughter outdo her cooking chicken br*sts.

I thought it was the system that added that tag if any of the words were kind of "iffy"

The trouble is if I say "that part of the chicken that faces forward and is below its neck and above his feet" does sound rather silly, does it not?

Before I would go into such detail I would just say chest!

I could do that, but my way would make them consider how silly they are.

yes such type of tagging is misleading and maybe the chances to get the responses get lowered becoz of such tags, i have never seen such thing butif it is happening here, people should not do so...i agree with u....i alwasy skip the tagging as i dont like to waste time typing there.

I have found that practice a bit amusing, because the asterisks turn the word into a suggestive or obscene word though it has no such connotation in its context. Try typing out the academic honor titles that finish with "Laude" for an example.

I have never added "Mature content to any of my discussions but have not been able to post them if they have any words pertaining to the anatomy and have had to change them as you have here. Some times it's frustrating but i guess that is the only way to keep discussions in their proper place.

It is rather annoying because I have to phrase any comments about my charity walk in such a way as to not say that word either. But then unfortunately someone who doesn't realize that they word will automatically tag my discussion as mature content will type out the word and then it's tagged. But I do understand why it's done and even if they tried to make the context of the conversation something that would trigger it, people will always find a way around it. Unfortunately it's just something we've got to live with.

I think some people just have trouble with that word for some reason. It's silly. It's a scientific term for part of the human and animal body but their minds are in the gutter. I think it's more a reflection on their small minds than on your discussion but it's too bad it has to reflect on your ratings.

I agree, just put your 8th grade comments in the Rated R section.

reading this discussion makes me a bit frustrated. From what you are saying, it is certainly not to do with a sensitive subject. It is a general subject and many youngsters are missing out.
