Are you a polyglot? The learning resources you can find on the internet are endless, making it easy to pick up another language. I'm so addicted to learning languages, especially when I discovered Michel Thomas. His teaching method is fantastic! I'm Filipino, I speak Englsih and Tagalog fluently. At the moment I'm also learning French and a bit of Russian. How about you? What languages do you currently know? Are you interested in learning another language? If so, which one?

You should definitely give more time to learning another language. And it's so easier today with the internet and all since you have access to so much tools and resources for learning. And it's free! Plus, you never know when you might need it! hihihih :) Goodluck!

I am Filpino too. I can speak English and Tagalog and some Filpino dialects fluently. Yes, I am proud of myself to say that I'm polyglot. I can speak language and write Korean characters about 50%. My Korean students told me that my articulation of their language is very good. Moreover, I could also speak Chinese language . I knew how to speak the survival Chinese words and sentences. Some of my foreign friends told me that I am a language genius.:-) I am very much interested in learning Asian languages. Learning and knowing other countries' languages makes me more confident. Well learning other languages could be essential for us and we might use it for our future especially in the world of business

Hi Kapamilya, kapuso!
Ofcourse Filipino and I can speak English fluently. I tried learning Spanish in Instituto Cervantes and a liitle bit of Korean and Japanese.
But I guess I do not have that "IT" to master a foreign language.
Jose RIzal has it for instance having mastered German in merely 20 days!! Whoaa. Now that is genius.
Add me!

Wow! I've been to Instituto Cervantes just recently. How much is their (basic) Spanish course? I might learn Spanish too since it's such an important language ;)Haha, yeah that guy's a genius! I suggest you give 'Daniel Tammet' a search on Youtube. He was offered a challenge to study Icelandic (A VERY HARD LANGUAGE) in just 1 week! :O Oh and he also learned German in a week too. :P

I am conversant with as many as 7 languages. four of them are internationally spoken and the rest are limited in Indian context only. I speak Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Marathi, Nepali and Urdu.
I too have a great interest in learning languages. how do you learn languages on line? Please elaborate.

Woah, now that's a lot. Awesome...I'm impressed! :D
I usually study by listening to audio courses,
a mix of Michel Thomas and Pimsleur tapes
For reading and spelling practices, I go to
About.com, they have tons of resources there if you're learning a language.
Lastly, I always listen to the music of my target language,
then maybe watch a foreign film or two. Learning's fun! :P
Seeing as you're a Teacher in Linguistics, I'm also curious
on how you go into learning a language. :D Cheers!

Hello!
I speak well Hebrew and English.
Hebrew is my mother tongue so I know this language very very good.
I have learned English in school and I also have friendsd and family who live in America, so I also talk a lot in English but I think I also have a lot to learn.
I also understand a little bit Arabic because I live in Israel and many people here and in the middle east at all talk Arabic.
That pretty much all.
Have a wonderful day.

I'm currently living in Indonesia, and of course, I'm speaking the language.
I have studied languages since I was a child, which results me being able to speak different languages, like Chinese (fluent), Dutch (fluent), French (fluent), Spanish (still studying, not that fluent), and English (not as fluent as the others). Personally, I always wanted to study Japanese and Latin languages next.
