Why Won't They Regulate The Sound Levels?

I hate it when my ears have become accustomed to a certain TV program, only to be jarred by a LOUD COMMERCIAL, then a quiet one, then one that was even louder than the first. What the heck is up with that? And what about all these unnecessary sound effects in movies? My husband has problems hearing, and I have super sensitive hearing!!! If we're going to fight abut anything, it's the volume of the stupid TV. What he can hear HURTS me, and what I can hear, is virtually silent to him. AARRGGHH!!! Why can't the television companies just regulate the sound so there will be no annoying surprises?

our tv has an automated volume regulator option - cool! Right?! Wrong, it is shut off every time the TV is turned off and if we use the cable box, it does not work either. It is annoying..I agree.

It is really annoying...the program is really low so you turn it up louder and then a commercial comes on and it sounds like a bomb going off. It's very aggrivating to say the least. It would be nice if someone came out with a way to make it all the same level. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I do agree to this request. For my TV set, I have already setup the equaliser but somehow when I switch channels, our hearts nearly jumped out. The volume suddenly surge! It would be good if there a regulator about the noise level and volumne level.

Hi Hon I'm with you...It's especially bad when I'm dozing a bit while watching tv and wham I'm awake and jarred out of my stupper! Maybe we could start a movement to get the tv companies to make them STOP IT! xoxoxoxoxo

they were supposed to,there was going to be an automatic sound equalizer either on the signal or the tv itself.but it doesn't seem they ever got around to it. just toning down the oxy-clean guy would be a start..that dude is major loud.

We had the same problem. And a guy from the satalite company told use about the sittings on you TV. Go to the sittings of your TV. There is a sound balance setting that you can place on Auto. This will automaticly adjust the setting on your programs you watch. It will lower the sounds of the commercials and loud special effects. It has really helped us

It would make life a little nicer, wouldn't it? I am with you on these awful commercials. It is hard to have such divergent hearing, we have the same issues from time to time.

I hate it when that happens also. I used to think it was my tv set but I really think it is the sound on the channels alone.

Do you have a mute button on your remote? Mine gets pushed more than the power button.

Make friends with your mute button. It will handle the pesky 'LOUD COMMERCIAL' problem. That used to be a big issue with me and my hubby too. I can hear my kid sigh from the other side of the house, but he has to have the television up loud enough for the neighbors to hear it too! I bought my honey one of those little helpful hearing devices that looks like a bluetooth headset. That solved the unequal hearing issue...with that thing he hears better than me. It is so nice to not be able to hear our television even if you are outside by the street!
