For these days,I help my husband treat something in his company.I found some of employees play online games during the worktime and every afternoon they were very busy to do the whole day tasks just in 2-3 hours.I don't think the condition of their tasks are good. What's your opinion of this?Could you share with me?
Happy mylotting.

many employees, due to tiresome work, resort to this. i used to have this habit of inserting some personal research when encoding data when i used to work. it sorts of break the monotony. sometimes i used to take a 30 minute coffee break.

Sounds like they need to have some stern words spoken to them. They are not there to play games, they are there to work. They can play online games when they get home.
If I were boss, I'd be very angry. At my old work, one of the guys used to spend all day chatting on MSN and I got stuck with his workload, so when he was out on his lunch break I disabled his MSN properly via the services.msc thing on Windows computers, so even after he tried uninstalling and re-installing messenger, he couldn't use it haha.
Just lucky I was better with computers than he was. He thought the boss had messed with his computer and he was all sooky to me about it and I just said maybe the boss had put a keylogger on our computers and that's why msn could not be used haha. Cheeky of me I know, but I was sick of doing his share of the work.
I wouldn't tolerate online games at work...although I would let them do it during break times.

honestly, I dont think there's anything wrong with that. as long as they've done their work, I feel they are entitled to a few stress busters. if the quality of their work suffers, then that's the issue you guys should look into. but the thing about them playing games to get away from stress.

Generally,i don't think that it is right to play online games during worktime but i feel that it's ok if they finish their job in hand or what. But from what you said that the employees just rush through their task and finish it to play their games,i feel that the company should ban them from playing games.Happy MyLotting :D

Of course not.If i`m the boss,i should draw up a rule of a ban of playing games during the worktime.Worktime is just for work, you could do better your task earlier and then you could go home to play games. That`s my thinking, cos i don`t like any PC games or online games, writing sth online should be better, just like mylot:)

I know many people that do this sort of thing and I think if I was in their sort of position I would do it as well. Work can be mundane and tedious and at sometimes people get bored. So they just play games to pass time. Of course it isn't right but if you were in their position would you be at 100% productivity all the time I don't think thats possible if you have no great motivation behind it.
