If meaningful SEO were effective through "tips and tricks", it would not be booming as an industry. The reality is, SEO is not about tricks, but about a rigorous and thorough study of your website, its competitors, what is making the competitors and the top ranking sites rank well in search engines and optimizing your site with this knowledge.
It includes changes that may have to be made to your site's design and architecture, it's content and building quality links that point to your site.
If your site and traffic to it mean a lot to you, consider getting professional SEO done for your site. There are many SEO firms, but established SEO firms can cost a lot of money. On the other end of the spectrum are questionable firms offering freebies and resorting to things that may get short term results but can land your site in a mess over time.
However, not all firms fall into these two categories. As a search engine optimizer, I have been associated with VTech SEO (http://www.vtech-seo), a firm that is set up to offer affordable SEO services to small and growing businesses. The firm doesn't resort to unethical SEO practices and doesn't charge the sky.
Alternately, consider hiring a freelancer, either as an employee or to outsource your SEO requirements. Whatever course you choose, my advice would be to get professional help. The time and effort in learning and doing SEO...and then getting results is not worth it, if you consider how much traffic professional SEO can drive to your site in that time.

I know a site that does seo and you do not pay until your site gets ranked for your keywords, prices are very reasonable.
