Do you live in the City, town villiage or country?

I live in a small town of 4000. Our nearest large town for major shopping is 15miles away. We can get a few top up groceries in the town though. I love living here and would not like to live in a large town or city if I had to choose.

When I am in the UK with my husband we are in a large, densely populated town which used to be the hub of the English steel and iron industry before the days of Margaret Thatcher. This is the town where I was born and raised an educated in. I called it my home town. It has gone downhill in the years since I left here. In America I live in a small mid-western town in Illinois - 40 miles from the mighty Mississippi and I love it. There are less than 2,000 in it. Our nearest hospital is 18 miles away and so are the Doctors we use. I go to this town to do the bulk of my grocery shopping. I rarely use he grocery store in my town because they are very expensive compared to others. I buy milk and bread there if I run out but that is about all. I love it. The only thing I have any complaints about is the Mayor and the city council. They are disgusting and don't have a clue how to run the city. They run it on a you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours theory. It is called Winchester, Illinois.

a towns life is the best.....it has most amenities which may be unavailable in a village while it is peaceful and calm unlike a city i myself live in a big city..and its all about surviving ....not living.

In a village though there are many things going on as most people know each other and therefore there are many clubs and things to do as much as any large town

Wouldn't change my rural life, for anything...even tho' it has many drawbacks! I live on a small Island, just off the lower coast of British Columbia, Canada! Our populations is 1100...swelling to 3000 in the summer (as there are many summer homes here)! We have many of the amenities necessary for day to day living, altho' costly....but living here, we realize we must pay for our peace and tranquility! We are serviced by Ferries, two to Vancouver daily, 3 to Victoria daily....and the return fares for vehicles is costly (nearly $100.00)! So when you factor that into the price of shopping off-Island, Island prices aren't so bad! I usually go OFF Island once every 3 months, when I buy in bulk, and all the things that are not available here....and it is a "gong show", the list is so long, most of the time you come home with only half of it done! And you usually are glad of that...as to go to Victoria you leave home @6:45 a.m. and home at 8:30 p.m. (a 14 hour day) then you have to unload & put away! Cheers!

I live in a small city, which here in the U.S. is about 150,000 people. Shopping is close and so is the art museum and theaters. Nothing is more than 5 miles away and I can drive to most places within 2-3 miles. I purposely chose this little city because it's not big--I've lived in a big city with a few million people before and it's horrible, everyone in a hurry and absorbed in themselves. I like the slower pace of a small city--we have a hospital, shopping, doctors, dentists and everything we need. There is a large city 40 miles away in either direction and smaller cities in the other directions. I lived out in the desert with the closest shopping 15 miles away and while it was nice and quiet, there was no place to take my children without a long drive. The traffic in the city was awful and it was full of crime. We have our share of crime here in my little city but it's not as horrific as that in the big cities.

im currently leaving in a town village, though the city is only 15 mins drive away from us. Still the "city life" thing is something I don't want... i really want a peaceful living xD

hey!! me too m living in a town but its a big one. It is the capital of a state in India but we are staying far eastern side nearer to China and its a sort of country side but we get all basic amenities here itself and the distances to the markets are all walkable. though, i have stayed in cities too and might like some occasional changes from time to time too.

I was born and raised, and now live again in the city of Chicago. The last I heard, there's close to 3 million people who also call Chicago their home. I love this city and everything it has to offer. When most people think about this city they envision the downtown skyline. But, most people live it neighborhoods with trees and grass and sidewalks and schools and parks. It is probably more of a fast paced life then living in a small town, but there are museums and theaters and professional sporting events and small cultural festivities.... The only thing I would like to do without are the winters, but we can't ask for everything.
