Its nice that you are trying to improve your English language. There are many ways to improve your language in English. But according to me try reading news papers like The Hindu which is in simple and understandable English words used in it. Daily read it for half an hour loudly but slowly & try as much as to cover all the pages in it. This will not only improve your language but also it improves your knowledge on external affairs & daily happening things around the world. With this whenever you are free try watching English channels more. Especially news channels like BBC & NDTV English. Stop watching regional channels to great extent. Make all the above things as habit on daily basis which will surely improve your language.

my sister who was a former call center agent and my trainer in an English proficiency course told me that to be able to speak understandable English, one should practice most of the time if not always to communicate in proper English in that way, it'll build the necessary confidence to speak English in everyday living.
also watch English movies and try to mimic the voices and their accent.

I also have a problem speaking fluent English. I think if your native tongue is not English for my experience it is difficult to speak it well. I agree with them that practice makes perfect. Reading and practicing are helpful to be speak english better. Pronounciation is also important to be able to understand by them. Sometimes its hard also to understand th accent of the British and American if they talk very fast.

Even I faced the same thing but you should try to learn it.
You should start reading newspaper and books.
You should listen to English news and if possible watch few English movies with your friends.
Whenever you find some different words you should find out there meaning.
Most importantly "YOU SHOULD THINK IN ENGLISH"
I think these things will help you.
You should even try to speak in English with your friends and in your family.

Listening only won't do a world of good in improving your english speaking skills. You should also try to recite words while listening them as for example if you are watching t.v. & an english movie is on just listen & try to speak in your mind what the character is speaking in his accent. Or you an also speak openly , it depends on you.

Hi Rocketsky,
As my oral english is okay, many friends around me asked how do i learn to speak good english. I also told them to start from the basic. One very important thing is that whatever you do to improve your english, you got to stick on it, you can't give up in the half-way, or you will lose everything.
I would suggest you to start remember the basic setences that you can use daily, then use it in your daily, you can speak the setence to your friend, your classmate, your workmate, just find someone to use that setence, then that will be yours forever. You use it, you remember it. That works on me.
Secondly, don't get too tired on improving english, stop when you still feel happy learning it, because if you feel bad, tired, you will lose your interesting on moving forward. Hope this helps.

Another thing is you should have an objectives, What do you want to learn and why? and start it a habit, i know its hard at start just try to learn something every day. It is much better to study (or read, or listen to English news, etc.) Once you get into this habit for sure the knowledge you've gain in studying will be retain easily in your mind.
You might also need reading, grammar, writing, speaking and listening materials and have a friends to study and speak with or simply what you are doing now participating on various discussions. Learning English together can be very encouraging. Be patient with yourself, because learning is a process, speaking a language well takes time.

Same here, that was a year ago. Some institutions are offering this so called ESL. It is all about English thing especially the pronunciation part and enunciation also, it is almost similar. Try to love the books. Yes, reading is the best source of English vocabulary. You will need a lot of English words to be conversationalist when you are going to talk. Other options will be watching American TV series. Then try to absorb what they are saying. I know it will helps you a lot. Good luck to you quest for English.

There are many ways how to improve your English. One of this is reading a lot of books and whenever there are words that you dont understand, just look for it in a dictionary. Read a lot and make it your hobby and until you will love it and you can learned a lot from it. Aside from that, watch American movies often and observe the way they talk and make it a part of your routine. I know for sure that through these ways you will improve your English skills.

Hi Rocketsky
One way you can improve your english would be by reading more english articles and newspaper. Do not worry my friend because its just a language that you can anytime learn. Its not impossible. What you can do is try talking slowly at first. Sooner or latter you will find your english fluent just like your other friends.

I think that the best way of improving your spoken english is to spend a week or so in England , speaking to the locals all day long and engage in every conversation posible. I think that in a week you will start to get the accent and you will learn more words and how they are spoken.
