What controls you?

I think that everyone has something that controls them in one way or another. It may be your health that keeps you from doing things that you want to do or it may be the laws within your country. It may be a person or a job that controls your being. It could be a number of things depending on you. So what is it that controls you?

I took very long time while answering your Question .. For me Jen it is my Health that allows me to do things i wish to. Like i can go anywhere, i can eat whatever i want, i can work overnight too as long as my health permits me.
One more thing is Mood .. i can say this must be the Universal that too controls us.
When you are in good mood you will do things you like to .. But when not in mood you tend to do things you don't wish to.

I guess it would be my mood as well..but I wouldn't have thought of it as being a control until you mentioned it. I think my job enslaves me more than anything else. I enjoy the money but sometimes it feels like a ball and chain..lol..I hope to one day start my own adventure doing something I enjoy. Maybe then making a living wouldn't feel so controlling.

Hi nee_raks! Very nice input. Mood can defiantely control us and lead our actions. It is also something that we often times can't control on our own...we can't help the way we feel. Health is also a means of control..and a big one. Thanks so much for the response.

i think we all have controls and we need someone to remind us that we need to control that. self control sometimes does not work har har har. at my work there is our director who controls us on what are we doing and what we are going to do and wear but this is for the good of the group. at hope my wife freguently reminds me what to eat and what to drink. as we have heart failures and diabetes in our family. there are people who control me at work and at home but it was all for the good.

Hey Jen! What controls me is lack of money! And then I think
laws would come next! Health would be in there further down!
But, basically it is the lack of money! If I had enough money
to just live comfortably, and I don't mean anything extravagant,
just for the bare necessities like food, rent, utilities then
I would be happy and I truly meant it!

Hi Opal! I have always felt the same way. I don't care to be rich or famous but if I could just pay my bills and run to the corner at lunch and buy a cheeseburger when I'm hungry..I'm happy with that. I think money controls us more than anything else sometimes. I hate that to because I think it holds us back from our full potential. Thanks for the response my friend.

What controls me?
I guess, it would be soft, sweet, honest people who control me totally. I am much gullible to honesty and transparency. I think, I am completely mesmerised and bowled by the goodness of people. We are all but this has a flaw also. Many time, people fake it and use me and I have no clue about it!
What about you?

The fact that you know the consequence actually leaves you on a better platform where I know you would take care of your health first and foremost. You are absolutely good and I am sure health would not control you ever. Coming to the goodness that we easily fall for, I feel as long as we can afford to do so - we must.

I am a softy for people too. I always want to expect that everyone is good and this can lead to disappointment. I think there are several things that control me. I think that money and job are controlling. I am lucky to have my health but it may one day control me as well.

What currently controls me is my financial obligations. If I didn't have bills to pay, loans to settle and a family to feed, I would probably not be stuck here in my current work, trying to make money to make ends meet. If I had a different source of money or there is someone supporting me and my family, then I would probably be traveling to different places with my husband and kids.

I think our teachings, learnings from the past and social norms in our society control us. We are bound by certain laws, norms and conventions and we should abide by it. If we do not and start doing our own, the social structure will get raptured and it is not a good scenario.

Hi deepak!! How are you my friend? I hope you are well. It's actually been sunny here! I am so happy about that..despite the bit of rain here and there..lol.
I do agree and that was very well said. Social structure can be very important and controlling. I think that laws are more of the better means of control...as in for a bigger cause kind of control. It maintains order. Thanks for responding!

Is it necessary to answer your query?
I mean this is one of the questions I don't want to answer. There is a devil inside me which uses to control me most of the time. When I feel that doing bad thing won't going to hurt me, I will do that. Kind of sabotage,
you understand.

Thanks for the quality comment on my post!
but I would like to add one thing and it is that thing which I have already done in my life will not change in future and only the experience of it would lead me if I come to face the same situation. At the same time, since I was not being punished, I would feel that i can do the same thing again!
I feel that God punishes you for your bad works but we don't understand his lesson most of the time.

Do you know that in very person their is evil & god. but it is only that how we responed to the sprits. when wh know that we are doing good or bad that show that we are with evil or god. One thing if you are unfornatly done the mistake than accept the mistake take the punshiment than god will excuse you & also he will show the right way and supports you in your work when you do the wrong thing unknowly than god will help you save you.
Please dont think the god is not there becasue if you feel struggle in you lift that means god want you to come under him at that time you control your self and face the problem. That completely turns into good sure turst me.

I would say that perfectionism is the one of the things I struggle against the most; it can be quite paralysing to have a fear on not being able to do something perfectly. Perfectionism leads to procrastination; as a person avoids risking failure he or she will keep putting doing things off.
Money unfortunately is another 'controller' because there is a heck of lot I want to do but cannot afford to!

I think that setting goals for yourself is very important. Healthy keeps me stringent on several levels. I want to live to a ripe old age and be healthy and in good shape. I don't feel like any of this is a control factor. It is just something that is very important to me and keeps me focused on a certain goal. Maybe I would feel differently about the control issue if I was still working.

Poor health would probably be the most "controlling" thing in my life, that and my age, but the two are related. My partner is also sick, and we cannot work because of it, and that restricts our income, since we have to rely on pensions which are barely enough to live on and maintain the property and service our mortgage. Every penny has to be counted and budgeted, and that is the most restrictive element that comes from the health issues.
There are also distinct limits to what we can do physically, which makes the actual maintenance of our lifestyle difficult. An extensive food garden is out of the question simply because of the physical demands it puts on us. We do grow herbs and have a few fruit tress, but not the extensive garden we had planned on.

Health can be one of the worst forms of control. Money too. There is always something I think. Gardens are a lot of work. I used to help my grandfather in his when I was a child and he spent a lot of hours tending it. He really enjoyed it though. I hope you and your wife are able to have your garden soon. I hate you are controlled in a way that you can't have what you want. Thanks for the response.
