Indian? Of course not LoL
Anime otaku is a japanese term for anime fans.
I just used "real anime otaku" coz there are so many participants under the anime section but they are not active. I really don't know if they really like anime or they just enjoy watching it.
I want to know how many are we(anime otaku)in here.
I want to have a chit-chat with them ^_^
Anyways, do you like anime?

Hi I am a 43 yrear old otaku. I have wacthed an enjoyed amimne long before I even knew what anime was. but even at my age I find that I still enjoy it and I jsut purched a new two disk dvd set just last week. I bought the seond set of the seris "Welcome to the NHK" from funamation. I got hooked on it after watching the first set of epishods. I am not a paticular fan of any seris, I do not do cospay, and I do not read manga. I jsut like watching the movies and tv shows related to my intrest.

Oic..ic...
It's really nice to know that you also like watching anime(grin).
Try to watch Devil May Cry and Dragon Creation(Sohryuden), it's really good ^_^.
Anyway...I think when I reached your age I'll still love anime and that can't be changed.
Thanks for the answer.

Anime otaku? What are your standards of an anime otaku?
Are they people who:
* watch anime?
* read manga?
* buy anime-related merchandise?
* cosplays?
* plays visual novels and Japanese games?
* collect figurines?
* are fans of voice actors/actresses?
* listen to J-music?
Pointing out the definition is very hard, I guess you should narrow it down to a more specific type.
Personally, I can consider myself as an otaku, because I pretty do a thing or two of the above, but I don't want to be branded as an 'otaku' myself.

You do know 'otaku' is a derogatory term in Japan, right?

I doubt that there are few anime otaku ... I think we are many anime fanatics! Like you, I am an anime (and manga)otaku. I really love anime! I've been watching anime since high school, and currently at 30'yish "young", I still watch the latest.My recent faves are Fairy Tail, Bleach, Nurarihyon No Mago, Hitman Reborn!, Aquarion Evol, Zetman, Fate/Zero, and Saint Seiya Omega. I also read mangs, particularly the "comic" versions of my anime faves I mentioned.
Y'know, I still see myself still entertained, enjoying and continuously watching anime ... till I get old. I love anime!!! :)

Umm.. in fact, it's easy to get exposed to anime because I can conveniently find related resource on net, mostly from related forums(a great amout^ ^) shared via Network disk,BT or FTP. But I rarely have time to enjoy, too busy recently - =. But I keep a babit listening to anime music and doujin music daily, have you heard before of doujin, or comic market?

No I'm a fake one and I doubt that would be a troublesome thing if an otaku living in a relatively low income family even in Janpan. Both real otaku and fake otaku are easy to get along with, anyway we share interest and values, ha, doubt when we can graduate from ACG school. OTL

Actually,even if you belong to your so-called "low family income" if you love anime...you will still love it whatever the problems.
In my POV eventhough you can't buy anime stuffs but still you are updated to what's going on in the anime industry or maybe you are still watching it, I guess you can also call yourself as real anime otaku as long as you know that you like it very much.
That's it.
^_^
By the way,I want to enroll in an Anime Academy but now it's impossible(how sad it is...sigh!)
Anyways...
T.C for the answer ",

I've just joined MyLot and I don't really know how things works yet, but even though this is a rather old discussion I though I should reply 'cause the first thing I looked for here was to see if there was any otakus. XD It seems there are just a few but hopefully there are some!
I watch a lot of anime and read not as much manga, but I enjoy doing both~ Specially comedy and slice of life series. :3
