The Development of Gaming

Lately, I've been playing more homebrew games than an official-company game. I found out that homebrew actually have more potential compared to real games. I mean, just look at the "creative" developers we currently have. I used to respect people like Shigeru Miyamoto, who invents many of the great Nintendo franchises. I quickly loses my respect when he started to create more "creative" things based on his own hobbies. I mean, Wii Music? Wii Sports? What's next, Wii Gardening? Wii Toilet Cleaning? Wii Work? I just don't know what to say. I also used to like Tetsuya Nomura's work, Kingdom Hearts series. Then the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" appears. Nomura rises to create more Cloud Strife clones as in Lightning (FF XIII) and Noctis (FFXIIIvs). It's just that I think that he's not developing new quality franchises. All he just did now is creating games with emo protagonists who wants revenge on someone or having a depressing past. I began to feel that indie franchises, some which are able to be downloaded as homebrews, is going to reinvent and gave new breaths to gaming industry. Someone like Robert Pelloni from Bob's Game might've be able to redefine what gaming is. What do you think, people?
