can warner bros make harry potter as a tv serial series

Oh god do I hate it how they make a series of episodes after the movies are finished. It totally kills the movie with their new stupid problems. I don't think they would because really, who would watch it? It's not really like they have a bunch of screaming teenage fans, and the people who would watch it have been things to do and work.

i dont think that would be a good idea, it would probably be bad. Harry Potter should just be a book and film series. Making a tv series would just cheapen Harry Potter.

They might be able to get away with it if it were an animated series. Hiring real people to play the parts on a television show would be costly. Hiring people to do the animation and voices would be a fraction of the price. I would probably check it out to see what it was like but I am sure that a lot of the die hard fans would balk at it. As long as it had some tie-ins with the books and movies it could be a huge hit and open up a whole new line of merchandising.

that would be an interesting request but an even more interesting idea esp because each of the movies take a few years to make if there was some way to cut the production time and instead of making it available in movie theatres you could broadcast it globally on every TV network to every television set that was signed up for that cable provider that way you would be able to see the next portion of the series as it happens instead of waiting 2 years for the next film to be available

I think that the quality and success of a Harry Potter television series would depend largely on the planning and execution. Nearly any television series idea can be incredible or horrible. Look at Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which outclassed and outlasted its movie counterpart. What makes this one more complicated is the huge fanbase. Fantasy fans are sticklers for detail and canonical storytelling. Being as the Harry Potter story was ended, it would seem very contrived to create new subplots outside of the Harry/Voldemort conflict. The only good storylines would have to take place within the 7 years at Hogwarts (well, 6 in Harry's case). The 'new' stories would have to be sandwiched in between the traditional storylines in the original series. This might be a stretch, but it could work if masterfully done. I would give a television series a chance, but I would feel some resistance, I think.
