I have worked on this Ranch for more then five. The owner is almost 80 years old and is just now talking about retiring. We have been making the owner about 250,000 dollars a year for the past 4 years. That is what the books say. One of the other ranch has has come to me with a proposal of partnership. Do I take the partnership or get a job someplace else?

So wait a minute. The owner is operating the ranch alone? And you're working under him?
So now that he's retiring, he's going to give the running of the ranch to you? Or give (or sell) the ranch to you? There is a difference in it.
Also, partnership is a highly sensitive thing. You must ensure that the person you're going to be partnered with is someone you can trust absolutely, especially if he will also be involved in the running of the ranch. However, if your partner is just going to be a capitalist partner (someone just to finance the ranch) and not involved in the operation, well, it will be less riskier.

Well if you do take the partnership, you know how much the ranch will earn each year, and you know all the ins and outs of the place. It really comes down to how you feel. Do you want to continue on at the ranch or do you feel like doing something else with your life? It's totally up to you.

If you want, make sure when you become a partner, that you get equal pay for work and read the fine line. Which one is the one your heart is working towards? You didn't say how much you made at this place you are at now. I don't know. Seems the owner is old and he's tired, but it's something perhaps in his family; The bottom line ends with you.

Well you have been working on the present Ranch for about 5 years.
That means you well know how everything goes.
As for me the amount looks tempting enough to do the job.
All i can say is that you know the pros and cons.
The ball is in your court now.
Hope i have helped you a bit.
