Today was cleaning my yard and i noticed my Husky was chewing at a hole (was alot smaller last fall) in the side of my greenhouse. He seemed quite frantic to get in there. So i got curious as to why and i went and opened the door. Inside my greenhouse was a orange kitty with six kittens 4 orange one orange and white and one grey. She took off pretty quick. They must have been there for a while as the kittens eyes are starting to open. I didnt touch them but i did take the dog away and tye him up so he wouldnt keep at the hole. As i continued to clean the yard i noticed that the momma cat was sneaking back to the greenhouse then went away again with a kitten...then back. I didnt look where she was going as she isnt my cat but i figured she needed somewhere safe and theres a barn and a few other buildings she can stash the kittens in. I made sure to put extra food out for the cats on the deck as i think she has been coming to eat and thats why my dogs have been going nuts at the deck every night lately. She's pretty wild but she can stay with me I like kitties. Have you ever found an unexpected cat? or cat and kittens?

when I was a kid I had a neighbor who had cats all around the outside of his trailer, we lived near a marina so the cats would just stay around that area looking for fish, he'd feed them too so they always hung out, they were all wild/outside cats and they always had kittens, sometimes they'd abandon them and I'd rescue them and care for them until they could fend for themselves and I'd let them go. Back then my parent's wouldn't let me have pets but they didn't mind me rescuing them.

I have a hard time imagining what it would be like to not have pets as a kid - but i grew up on a farm and we always had some sort of animals here. When you rescued them did you just feed them and keep them at home or how did you do it?

kept them in my room they were still nursing and very small, so I'd just bottle feed them til it was time to ween them.

I have seen.A cat often come out of the window,I give him something to eat. For a long time ,he knew me .Once, I followed him, that he had a few kitten, he came every day to eat, feed back the kitten . Hence,I often to prepare some food for them. Then I caught them all back home . Now the old cat followed me a life. Can be obedient.I love it.

You are so nice. Yes we find extra cats all of the time. Took one in and had him fixed up cause he was hurt and sick, then he disappeared. Either the people who abandoned the adult cat next door took him, or the foxes ate him, cause we never found him. All of my cats are found cats.

Mine have always either been a farm cat born on the farm, one someone from a farm was giving away or putting to sleep, found or adopted from the spca. Theyre wonderful kitties and i have always had a hard time seeing how people can only want purebreds.
