I am leaving my computer on while I am still awake and around and need to use it. I have to turn it off if I am not around because sometimes blackout may occurs. Eventhough I am using UPS, there are limit for the power and it may shut down my computer (which is good for PC health)

yeah...most of the time i leave my computer on...i only off the monitor..it's not really electricity time consuming because it only charge less. so it is just okay..because if i do on and off i'm afraid it will cause damage to my computer..anyway i will just left it in 30 minutes with the sound of music..

My usage with computer is very high so I never prefer to shout down pc in most of the circumstances. The main factor I have online downloads and uploads. Some times for the sake of power saving I do just power off all the devices except the devices not required to run the pc.
Like monitor, speakers and other peripherl devices will be in off state when I move outside or in sleep. there are so many software application allow to run/off the systems functionality automatically with conditions.

I turn it on when I wake up, and leave it on all day (I use it all day :P), but if I know I'm going to be away for at least half an hour, I'll put it on the sleep setting, so it won't be running. I figure at least it won't overheat if I let it sleep. If I'm leaving the house to go to the store or something, I'll shut it down. And when I go to sleep, I shut it down.

My computer stays on basically 24/7 unless I'm leaving to go home or gone for the weekend and then I'll turn it off.
For me its a hassle waiting for it to load in the morning and I'm in such a rush to run out the door to get to class and there are things like email I have to check before going to class because of cancelations, extra notes to print out, etc.
Also I'm constantly on my computer throughout the day so I don't see the point in turning it all the way off. I think I'm going on my computer to check something at least every few hours so again that hassle comes in.
