I always see the cooks on tv who have fresh herbs growing in their kitchen. I am trying this year for myself with small decorative planters and the herbs are: fresh parsely, basil and chives. Don't know how well it will turn out but I got excited when I saw the little sprouts popping out.
How about you guys?

Wow, that's pretty cool. I've never tried it, I think it would be neat to have that readily available though, good luck and great eating.

I don´t grow herbs in my kitchen but I grow them in pots outside the house. We habve mild winters where I live so there´s no problem. In fact, I used to have many of them in the earth until a puppy came to my life. She digs anything so I had to pot them and put them away.
I have chives, oregano, thyme, green onion and two kinds of parsley. I want to plant more parsley because until now I use my own at certain times only. But parsley fritters are awesome and I´d love to make them with homegrown parsley.
Happy posting

I never tried parsley fritters. Sounds good, i love parsley in almost everything. This herb garden for me is rather small this year. I think I am planning to do a window box sometime soon which I think would be much better and bigger.
Thanks

I always had a hard time growing them outside for some reason. I even made a small crate like bed for them and it didn't work out. So far so good I just realize I have to water them more often inside.
Thanks for responding.

They are costly and I love having them fresh. They can be a little difficult but here is how I got mine started. I took a pot and put dirt in it and then the seeds and then watered it. I then took plastic wrap (the clear kind) and wrapped it up and then set it on a shelf. It's like a mini-green house. And then the sprouts came rather quickly. I do this with all my starters and they turn out well.
Thanks hope this helps.

If this doesn't work out doing it this way I thought of making a window box with them. I have difficulties growing them in the ground where I live for some reason. All other veggies grow, but herbs and even some flowers don't do so well in my ground. I think it's cause I have mostly clay like dirt here.
