Within 5 minutes of walking in our daughters door the grandkids all wanted to play. So my wife and I took them to the playground. They all had a blast as did Deb and I. Savanna loved the baby swing also. It was a warm sunny day with a crisp cool breeze though so we did not stay reqaly long. We all played for a good hour though. Do you take your grandkids/kids to the playground often? Do you play with them as well, or just watch them play? Yes my wife and I sawng and I also went down the slide once. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I used to take my grandkids to the park when they were younger. Now there are not any good ones close. When I go to my daughter's they have a really nice city park and we go there sometimes. I have gotten on the swings before or gone down the slide. I have not gone around on the merry go round thing in a long time though, it gets me tooooo dizzy.

I am not sure if they still have one at the river park out here or not, it is a small one if they do but it still will go around and around and around...oh goodness, getting dizzy just thinking about it. hahaha Today I had a doctor's appointment and the doctor changed my bp med and I told him how I have been depressed lately and just don't want to even leave the house and he give me a prescription to see if it will work for me, so hopefully it will and that soon I will be able to get out and about and enjoy life and family again. Wish me luck.

I don't have grandchildren yet and hopefully won't for a few years (although I can hardly wait!). But I loved playing with my children when they were young. We'd swing and slide and play n the sand with trucks and cars. It was in Arizona so there was only a small window of time in the summer we could play on the playground--when it got too hot, children would get burned on the swings and slides. I loved to push them on the merry-go-round!

I remember some summer days like that here in Kansas. It is so sad to be barefoot and in shorts and to get burned.

That's why I'm so happy to be back home in the midwest, Gerty! Everything is soft and green and the sun doesn't kill everything it touches.

It sounds like you had a great time. Yes, I go with my grandkids to the playgrounds quite often. Today we went to a local farm and joined in an Easter Egg Hunt. It was fun, and then afterwards they wanted to go into the playground. We went with them, and joined in as much as possible. I think it's a good way of bonding with the kids. Brightest Blessings my friend.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Hope you had a nice Easter :) I take my daughter who will be 3 in June as much as I can. Fresh air and activity is good for anyone any age! We live about 3 blocks from the park too so it's very convenient for us. The weather was pretty crummy for the past while, but it started getting nice over the weekend so we have gone to the park quite a few times now, Angelina LOVES the swings!

I go with my son at least twice a week to the playground so he can run freely and enjoy himself. I see parents watch their kids play at the beginning, but then after 15 mins or so, everyone lets go a bit and starts playing or doing funny things to enjoy themselves. I play catch with him or sometimes we do funny animal sounds... well... we're having fun right??!! I also started a discussion about what type of activities kids enjoy doing (and adults too)!!

Right now I do not have anyone around who wants to be taken to the park. Although my granddaughter who lives in your neck of the woods does periodically tell me she is going to Andrews Park, which is near her home. I play when I go. We have run races and set stop watches and jumped over things and swung, and all kinds of other stuff. It is good for both body and soul.

I always took my children and now I take my grandkids to the playground. The playground is just down the block where I live, so we always walk there. It takes only 3 minutes to get to the playground. They love to swing and slide and titter totter. Some of my grandkids are now old enough to go over by themselves and they now play basketball. Yes Grandpa I also swing on the swings.

Bet you had a great time and the kids loved it! I used to go the the park with my kids when I was still able too and I played on all the stuff too! Wish I still could but when the weather is good I still go to the park with the little un and even though I may have to go in the wheelchair I still know my daughter lovesme being there! xxx

My husband has asked me before if we go to the playground for our son to play or for mommy to play? I love playing too!! It is a common thing to meet up with other moms and kids for playdates at playgrounds. The other moms all want to sit around chatting while the kids play. I have to remind myself that I need quality adult time in my life too. Lol I'm always the mom who starts a game of freeze tag or something...... usually when the moms have all talked enough and all that is left is gossip.

My kids get to go to the playground about once every week or two. If the weather is horrible then we go to McDonald's and use the playplace. My 9 year old and my 2 year old play together, but I don't normally join in on the fun except pushing on the swing.

I used to love taking my children to the park. I had one in the pram, one in the little seat on the handle, and one walking (the other one was in school). We'd walk down to the local shops for ice cream, then go to the park. In those days, there was a huge, tall rocketship in the park, with three or four levels for the kids to climb in. It was pretty scary for the little ones, but they loved it. The rocket isn't in the park anymore (too dangerous for the do-gooders) - there's some newfangled plastic stuff which doesn't look nearly as much fun.
