For the life of me, I thought it would be easy for me to downsize my photos before sending them to family overseas but I can't. Can someone please help me to downsize my photos? Thanks in advance

You can crop and save the picture using photoshop or any image editing software that you are familiar with. However, it's not recommended to do that as the image might loss some pixels (oh, well, just use it, not much choice is it?). You can zip the files or using file sharing sites. I usually send mine via YM using the files transfer tool when the other party also online. That way I can care less about editing the images.

If you have adobe photoshop, you can reduce its size by decreasing its pictures size. If you do not have any adobe photoshop, then you can use Picasa. It works great. I used if my digital cam picture's output is more than 1 megabytes so I reduce its file size and picture or photo size. It will decrease its file size and can ne guaranteed.

An easy and fast way to downsize your photo is this. Open the MS Paint program. Copy and paste your photo onto Paint. From the Image tab, select 'Resize/Skew.' From this option you can make the photo any size you wish. Once the photo is the size that you want, save it as a different name. This way you still keep the large size photo on file in case you want it again.
I hope this helps!
