I am just wondering if you guys can watch a horror film or scary scenes alone. I admit that I need someone to be with me while watching horror films specially my wife. I don't know why she like watching horror movies specially if it talks about ghost, witches, vampires, etc. I hope I can watch horror movies alone. Our son is also scared when watching horror movies like me and we keep on shouting together while we are watching. My wife is just scared in some scenes that you can see a lot of blood or if it shows hospital operations or movies about murder like "Friday the 13th".

My family loves to watch horror movies and I would have to say that that is what most of our owned movies are. Friday the 13th are our favorites and we have all them in our collection. We have sat to watch them and makes it better when we do it in the dark. I am not sure about watching them in the dark by myself though. I think that watching them in the dark with my family is easier because I know they will save me if a killer were to brake in LOL but being by myself would be a little creepy to me...I would have to watch it with the windows open. If I were to watch them by myself I would at least have to make sure that my feet were up that way nothing can come out from under that couch and grab my feet :)

LOL Froggie I do that to. Keep my feet up and make sure all the doors are locked. I don't mind watching them alone though even though it does make it much scarier. I do love them though.

Me too, I like watching horror films alone, it's interesting and attractive for me, if I watch this kind of TV with others, they always outcry, essentially, it don't scare, I don't feel scared, when they outcry, it will bring horror surroundings,so I like watch alone and don't feel horror. He he, the same to your wife.

I am not really a fan of horror movies but when I watch them which is rare I can watch them by myself. I think it is because I dont get afraid very easily.
I can sit all by myself and watch a horror and dont feel a thing whan it is time for me to sleep. Maybe something is wrong with me.
Take care!!

Yes, I can watch a horror movie alone, no problem with it. I always treated movies as part of arts and what is happening on the screen is part of every film makers imagination. I also wrote several manuscripts of horror genre (though none of them submitted for publication because I am still polishing them), but I don't scared because they came from my deep imagination and not real.
Scare and fear comes from subconscious and it did not really comes from reality. It is always based on how we believe things in our environment. They are purely the products of our imagination and mentality.

I do it all the time. Well, as much as I watch movies anyways.
I like horror movies, watched them since I was small...so not a ton of them really scare me anymore. BESIDES the fact that most of them are highly unrealistic -- which sortof ruins the scariness factor for me.

I can watch them by myself but prefer to watch them with someone. I love scary movies. I like sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. If I am alone I do make sure that there is some type of light on in the house and that the doors are locked. LOL Just a precautionary measure.

I would not even think about watchng a horror movie alone. My brother rents he most goriest and horrible movies to watch, but I have trouble sitting through them. Sometimes I have to get up and leave the room. I would never watch horror movies alone.

I can't watch horror movies on my own. I'd be too scared to finish the movie and I think I'd cry ... what's sad about this is that I'm not kidding. Even when I'm with someone, I'd be really scared with horror movies. I know that everything is just fake but my imagination is too wile to accept that and I end up having nightmares for days.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I watched horror movies even im alone in the house. But i can't watch it in a movie theater alone. I love watching horror movies. Why should we be afraid of horror movie. It is just a movie, we're not even sure if there is a real vampire, witches, etc.

Not only do I enjoy watching them alone, but I have friends & family who request I go along with them to see horror movies because they know I will make them feel less afraid while watching them. It's fun.

If you asked me that 5 years ago, I would have answered yes, I can watch horror films alone...but after I watched "the ring"..well...it changed my perspective..lol.
It gave chills for a weeks and after that I never watch horror films alone. I rarely even watch scary movies in the cinema nowadays. I can watch it in my laptop alone but I'm aware that there are other people in the room with me doing their own business.

I love scary movies, but my husband refuses to watch them with me. I like to wait until he's out of town, then pop one in when it is dark. I just love them. I know, I'm sick, LOL. I guess I don't get scared because A) I know it isn't real, and B) the movies they make now are just not all that scary. The Omen and The Exorcist are the two scariest movies ever made, IMO.
