Speaking of summer, the weather so hot, your always thirsty, its so sunny outside and people tend to eat summer treat. Here in our place, "halo-halo" is very in demand. You will see many stores at almost every corners selling halo-halo and many people love and enjoy it too. Different stores have their own different taste and style of selling it. But what makes halo-halo the most famous dessert during summer? Its basic ingredient, crushed ice, milk and sugar, already taste nice, but wait till they put sweetened beans, watery nata de coco, kaong, crunchy pinipig, plus rich flavored lanka, sago, and specially prepared ube halea and leche plan. Hhhhmmmm...who can resist...hehehe. Some people do enjoy pouring a scoop or two of ice cream, but me, it is not necessary. I love summer!!! How about you, what do you love most to eat during this season?

I also love to eat halo halo and ice cream during summer. Right now, the Philippine weather is so hot that I wanted to be in the presence of ice always. Last sunday my good friend and I went to Chowking to eat halo halo, so cool!

I believe that you are from the Philippines since we Filipinos love to have halo-halo during the hot summer days. Just like you do I too loves halo-halo a lot though it is quite fattening. Aside from halo2x i love to have a very cold watermelon since the fruit is on its peak during the summer season. It is so watery and i love the sweetness of the fruit.I also like the melon fruits that is very cold. Now I would love to have those today.

There is nothing like Halo halo specially in summer. Although i really miss to taste the halo halo of Chowking. Sad to say that there is no halo halo here to where i stay but i can only be solved by their falooda.
I also like kaong and nata de coco and buko strips. Although i set aside the beans like small red beans, not the white because i like it more than those small bits of beans. I would also like to try some mais con yelo, but i find it difficult to get evaporated milk here. What they have were condensed milk, fresh milk like the milk you put for cereals and sterilized milk. I don't know if that will be okey to use.
I also miss sago and gulaman. There is no sago't gulaman here, they have gellies but it is with flavor, mixed powder thing, not like the gulaman bars that we have back home.

ohhh....i pity you...hehehe...just kidding. You can always come back and get those. Just an hour ago, i prepared and enjoyed banana con yelo, sweetened banana with crushed ice and milk. I like it more than mais con yelo, but i do eat it too. Sago't gulaman is also great....i am getting cold now. I think you can you cream powder they put on coffees instead of the fresh milk you've mention. Try it and you'll see. =)

There is a native halo-halo in the Philippines that everyone would love to taste. They say that what makes it different from other halo-halo is that it has a smooth texture and the crush ice seems like an ice cream. I would still prefer eating frozen yogurt with mango bits during summer..

different people have different preferences in almost everything. What you like is something tempting too and i think very healthy as well. I heard one famous halo-halo store is the Razon's. Their halo-halo is simple but rich in flavor! Have some... =)

hmmmmm.. yeah halo-halo is real tasty but I would opt for all fruits halo-halo, without any other artificial add ons, wonder if it's still halo-halo. I like stuffing anything healthy and yummy! Seeing halo-halo on the streets signifies the summer season and I love to watch especially little children doing some summer jobs selling and barking halo-halo! ^--^ happy summer everyone kahit crisis! ^^

Is that so, i also don't like the pinipig, but i never bothered telling the store not to put it on my halo-halo, i just don't eat them. Like you, leche plan and ube alone with sweetened banana and jackfruit...oohhhh....can't wait to eat again!
