I also use speaker for audio. I have connected my boss speaker to my pc.

Unfortunately I don't have surround sound but I'd rather use speakers than a headset any day. Surround sound should only be used for music,video gaming and other sorts of thing that don't necessarily need to be muffled. I'm even surprised that "muffled" is even a word!

i use normal speakers as also use headphone i like to us head phones and find interesting to hear with headphones. they have some different and nice sound instead of speakers.

i both used headphones and Speakers.
if i wanted to immerse myself into the beat of the music, i use my 5.1 sorrund speakers, whereas if i am playing games especially role playing which takes more time, i use the headphone so not to disturb any around especially when somebody is watching TVs.

As I'm listening to audio books a lot, I'm using head phones more than anything else. Soemtimes I listen on my PC, then it's on the speakers too. (I run my own audio books shop - URL in my profile) and therefore audio books is really what I listen to most.
