To unlock unlimited ammo for a weapon, beat the game once (must beat all chapters) and fully upgrade that weapon then buy the unlimited ammo ability using exchange points (I think you get it by getting some thing like skill points from Ratchet and clank games or doing some thing special in the game) from the bonus features (for that weapon only).
