Some people are much of a listener than a talker. Others are the opposite. There are also people who are both. I am the extreme. Because there are times when I get really communicative and then the next, you find me silent. Sometimes, I merely listen simply because I don't know anything to say.

I think I may belong to those who are much of a listener than a talker. I am not good at talking and I don't want to give advice. Not because I am so mean or don't care about my friends, but simply because I am afraid of misleading them by giving advice. I think everyone has to decide things on his/her own. Sometimes others' views are helpful but can't decide things for them. So I prefer being a listenr to a talker.

If I'm with an acquaintance and if they're shy, I'd get them to talk. Otherwise, I'd shut up and let them do the talking (and let them assume that I'm a sweet, meek young lady LOL). With friends, I'm both - depending on what the situation calls for, of course. I guess I'm one of those persons who can either be a listener or a talker when circumstances call for it. :D

Not some people, most people do not like to listen. There are talkers and talkers but few listeners. This is a universal truth that all people tend to talk about themselves or anything more than listening. This is so because listening is a passive act and people do mot want to be passive.
As for me I a soft spoken person. I do not say that I am a good listener. If the issue is worth listening I would spend thousand years to listen and if it is not even two minutes would be too much for me to spare.

I'm a great listener and can usually help people with their problems more so then taking care of my own problems. People have told me I should have been a physiotherpist.
