Are you satisfied with your current job, at your current company? It depends on the atmosphere and the people around us in our work place. It is we who create the atmosphere. Always love your job but not your employer. If we do our work correctly we will be happy, if we love our employer we will not be happy.

You are correct in saying that the working environment is a great motivational factor in job satisfaction...and I believe that management behavior has a great deal to do with setting up the office atmosphere. It's mainly how they create "rules" in the office that affects the attitude of the employees. I frequently do field works and would notice the difference and the boss' attitudes and how the employees would react to them...not strangely, this would affect how the work is being done by the employees. Although I believe that loving our work will keep as happy, this alone cannot culture loyalty and satisfaction, hence we will always seek for more.

Well yes, the job I do now does not require much effort on my part. Its fairly routine office work and the timings and pay are good too. I have been doing this for the past ten years and this office is like second home to me.

I was not satisfiied with my last job, so I quit it at the end of last month. My former boss didn't like me, so he made me unhappy. So I didn't like him either. But I really miss the days when I have something to do. I thought I would be happy after resignation, but I am not happy. I am joining the group of unemployment.

I have been working at home on the internet for almost two years. I do not wish to go outside of my home to make an income. I can make the same pay and even more right her in my home office. I was not satisfied working outside of my home. I worked two jobs, one at a local hospital and one at a nursing agency. Both jobs were draining and consumed a lot of my time. I worked all shifts, but mostly midnights. I hardly ever got any sleep. So, I love my job right here at home. Of course distractions happen. Overall, I'll stay home and work.

I am working as a medical transcriptionist for many years. There has been lots of highs and downs in my job. I think working atmosphere and friends matter a lot in my job. I am satisfied with my job to an extend. Even though the pay is less than I except, I am happy that I am having a very good working atmosphere and lots of friends.

My job is ok. It could be way worse like not having a job is how I view it. There are some nice people. Do I like the work that I do? No, not really. I never have. I took it to gain some experience and hoped to find something else, but I got diagnosed with cancer and now the job market is fairly bad. So I apply here and there and just do what I can.

I am quite satisfied with my current job - it is my first and I have been here for slightly over a year :) I'm working as a programmer and I'm having fun learning a lot of stuff and am happy that college was able to equip me with the right learning skills in order to keep up with the demands of the real world.
I agree that the office atmosphere generally makes or breaks a person's satisfaction with the company. I personally know a close friend who is in a very reputable company but is preparing to leave in order to find a better training environment. It turns out that this person's office mates are people full of crap who don't care about other people's lives just as long as they maintain a certain "reputation" inside the workplace when it comes to finishing tasks - like that matters when you're not even getting a raise.
However, on your last sentence I may not agree fully. Of course it is important that we love our work - better if we love it enough that we don't even FEEL like we're working but simply entertaining a hobby. However, employers CAN make life a living hell. There is one myLot member who started a discussion regarding this - she said that she has not been feeling well and her health has started to fail her because of too much stress from work. She hated her job even though her work (in its barest form) is actually the line of work she in interested on. She ended up applying in a new company with the same job :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I am satisfied with my work, but sometimes I get frustated. Sometimes there is pressure in our work, but sometimes it goes smoothly. It all depends on how we work and how we cooperate with our coworkers.

This feeling is there with everyone. Most of them are frustrated with their jobs. When we get pressure we will think that if we go somewhere else and work we will be comfortable there, but what if we go there and experience some other pressure. It is better that we stick to a job and adjust with the situation.
