i have more problems w/ my phone co. than i do w/all the other utilities put together. i live in a small town & it's the only phone co. we have so they have no competition & that means u have to put up w/all their bull or have a mad fit w/them. guess what i do? lol. if they ever get your bill messed up & they do quite often it takes months to get it straightened out, i'm in tennessee & u have to call new york to talk to a representative from the phone co. what the he!! do they know about what's going on in a small town in tennessee, do y'all have this problem w/your co.? it's very aggravating. i stayed on the phone w/them yesterday for 40 @#$%^^%$ minutes . u know what when i get my next bill it want be right. i'm not a betting woman but i'd bet on that. does anyone else use frontier?????

We don't have frontier on the west coast, but we kicked the phone co to the curb a few years ago. My hubby and I each have our cell phones and they work just as well. We got tired of being told it was only $25.00 / mo for service or whatever, and getting our bill of $45 due to taxes, fees and whatever else. I'm not sure what kind of service you get in a small town, but it's way cheaper and less of a headache to just use the cell phones. We never even consider going back to a landline.

I totally understand. We have internet service here too, but it was still cheaper to go the cell route. Try bundling your cable and internet instead of your phone. Good luck!

I heard that Frontier is not that good, but I live in Canada and we have two main companies and it depends on where you are, what is the best one. Here in Manitoba, we have MTS and Shaw, and here Shaw is the best. On the other hand, my sister-in-;aw who lived in Saskatchewan said that Shaw is terrible there, and STS which stands for Saskatchewan Telephone Services is quite good. Then in Ontario and the Eastern provinces and in British Columbia, they get Rogers. And since when we moved from B.C. to here, they did not have Shaw, I do not know how that is over there.

Morning, both dear ladies....I do live in B.C., but it depends on where you live, as there is NO other service provider where I live! It's TELUS only (used to be B.C.Tel)....yet my son, whom lives on 14 miles away, has Rogers! Actually, there is not a "cable" provider here! As TELUS doesn't do cable, so I have a rotary antenna, for TV! Cheers!

here also the government telephone companies do act smart in the sense that we have to make several rounds to their office to make a complaint, they donot entertain phone calls and the lines come always busy.

Thankfully, I have not had any trouble with my phine company. I do know that here, I have the option of my current phone company, or I can get phone service through my cable company. I have had a little trouble with the cabel company, but nothing too bad. I was pretty upset when I spent over 2 hours on hold with the cabel company one night, but at least the problem was fized right away. Have you thought about looking into Majic Jack? My Aunt uses it and says that it is great. It doesn't cost too much and all you need is an internet connection. If you don't want to go that route, does your cabel company offer phone service?

I don't have trouble with my bill but I live in a county that I am at the very south end of it and I can not make calls any where else in the county unless it is long distance.Only place I can call without being long distance is in my town, very small town.

My dear friend....I am sorry, but this made me laugh...and WELCOME to my world of TELUS! THE ONLY SUBSCIRBER available, in my little corner of the world! And do they...have me by parts I won't describe! Take your troubles, multiply by 3x, and you have just a "whole load of fun!" They provide my Internet, my Land-line...and my cell-phone.......and guess where I am directed when I have a problem...INDIA! They don't understand me.....I don't understand them, nothing is ever resolved, and now they charge $95.00 an hour if they need to send a repair man to your home, even if it is one of their insecure lines that service your house...and or THEIR transformer gets moisture in it! I dedicate the whole morning...or afternoon to solving an ISP/landline/cell problem, and many hours later, an ice-pack on my cauliflower ear! I guess that's what we get for chosing a lifestyle in a smaller area, where there is not competition...and we are forced to take what we can get! So, is the story for our Electrical provider! Nice to hear from you, we are set for an optimal sunny day...but freezing last nite (sure wished that would have happened over the weekend) and my neighbours would have had their parts frozen OFF! LOL Hugs and cheers!

it's o.k. to laugh, i think u needed a good laugh after what u have been through. it's a mess to be so dependant on morons. india?? my gosh, i thought new york was bad. it is a long way from tennessee. we do have a repai chg. where they will come out when u have problems. of course they gharge u ever month for it or we would have to pay some awful fee like you do. them cgarging you for the moisture problem is another rip off. one of the guys i talked to yesterday said tome when i ask him a question that he didn't really know the answer to that. i told him not too nicely what i thought about that answer . i'd rather do anything than fool w/this phone co. diiging ditches would be pleasure compared to talking to them. sorry for the rant. thanks for your response. it's a shame those hoodlums didn't get it frozen off to the nub . it's gloomy here again today & chilly. think the sun over tennessee has mildewed.

What really "ticks" me off....is tht they know they have you by the "short & curlies", and they treat you like a moron! You can't even threaten taking your business elsewhere. And when you get soooooo mad, you want to tear some-one's face off...they don't understand the language, so all you are doing is venting into a telephone! I think that competition would set them on their ear! Sorry, it takes me so long to respond to your discussions, but the only time, (mostly) that I am on myLot is between 4 and 5:30 a.m. Am always too tired at night, and since my little hospital bout, am finding I am even more worn out! Getting my strength back tho.....but the Easter weekend of little sleep did NOT help! Love ya....and Cheers!

never heard of it. but, i'll tell you when I lived in the country in florida, way out in the middle of no where, we had a lot of problems with embarq. its based in orlando or tampa maybe. one of the bigger cities far away. usually had to wait forever for anyone to respond to a problem, not to mention trouble with the bill getting straightened out every time they made a mistake. uuuggghh!

I used to have issues with the phone company. Now I only use a cell phone. It is much more convenient. No hassle. And it is even significantly cheaper. Dropping our landline was definitively a good decision for us.

Wow that sounds like you are having hell with your phone company Antique. However I oculd relate to your problem and this always happen when you have a monopoly as we did back in the 80's and early nineties ,we had to put up with exhorbitant bills ,they literally charged us for eevrything even to recieve calls .In addition their customer service was extremely poor ,you rarely could get connected to their customer service department and when you did ,you rarely got any satisfaction from them.Next problem we had with them were the coverage,at the time most of the island was without telephone service especially if you lived in the rural areas, they would foten place telephine along the major thoroughfares and ignore teh turnoffs so god forbid you lived far from the main road.Anyway Antique try to see if you can entice other companies to the area .This is what happened when our telecommunications market was liberalised and other players eneterd the market.Their customer service went up and bills came down and nwo they are trying vigorously to recapture market share that they lost .Have a good day Antique

we're not in a small town here where i live. we have the same kind of problems here with the phone company too. we tried several times to get the caller id removed from the phone and it still hasnt been its like talking to the wall sometimes trying to deal with them and they charge you for things you didnt call sometimes. at least we don't seem to have the problems with the internet connection that we have with the regular phone sometimes i just don't think they listen to what you have to say. it seems to be like this all over our country.
