When you have new born baby, do you buy a new or use 2nd hand baby cot? Some people don't mind as it save cost.Normally one baby will use for few months only. After that the baby cot is not suitable to use....

A moses basket is suitable until a baby is three months old. A crib is suitable until a baby is six months old. A cot is suitable for a baby until two years old. A cot bed is suitable for birth to about four or five years old. I bought an almost new moses basket and my sister bought me an pine cot. I will move my toddler son into a bed and use the cot for my baby girl to be born in June. She will go in the moses basket until she grows too large. I think a second hand cot is fine but a new mattress is essential.

I"m not sure if you mean what we call a basinette here as that's what they use for a few months. I had a used cradle I got from a rummage sale wich was 1/4 or less of what a new basinette cost, even came with the matress!
Now a crib on the other hand you would want to buy new for certain. As the bars are only allowed to be so many inches away. And with the new laws in the US, anything sold after Feb has to pass lead paint limits seeing that my one child liked to gnaw on the rail I think it's a good idea.

hi there! I buy new things for my baby. it doesn't matter if its not that expensive but what matters to me is that it's new. but sometimes there are some friends who gave her some used things. so what i do is i choose only those good ones.
