I have a dog who doesn't like me to brush his fur after giving him a bath. He would rather run around the house and eat than letting me fix his fur. After a few days, his fur were full or tangles which gives me a very hard time brushing his fur. Do you think I should learn how to take good care of furry animals or should I just take care of big dogs than toy dogs?

Hi there! I have two furry dogs and I groom them myself and boy the grooming takes a lot of my time. But I love doing it and my pets are so used to it. I've trained my pet since they're puppies. I always brush their hair even when I don't give them bathes. Did you train your pet for it's grooming sessions? If your pet is used to the brushing and other stuffs of grooming I think there will be no problem at all. Taking care of animals, big or small are just the same. I think big animals are even harder to give bathes due to their size. I suggest don't give up taking care of toy dogs. They're cute and maintenance are just small. They're much easier to put in cages too. Just train your dogs so he can get used to the brushing. Hope that helps. Ciao!

I tried to brush him but he bites my hand and his brush. If I'm going to give himn food, he would settle for a while but after eating, he will try to take the brush out of my hands. When he was still a puppy, I always brush his fur. But when he grew up, he became naughty and playful. Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it. :)

Oh I see.. Well maybe your dog gets hurt when you brush him that's why he doesn't like it. Hold the dog's hair when you brush him so his scalp won't get pulled.

I don't think that should be a problem in brushing your dog fur. Just let a person hold him, and then brush. I know it feels good for them, so I don't know why you dog is running around. Maybe you should try to use a diffrent brusher that will make your dog feel a lot better.

As I said, try to brush him while a person is holding your dog's face.
