How to fix a broken heart?

One of my friend recently broke up with her boy friend .In fact both of them were about to get married but they broke up as the boys parents started objecting. My friend attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills but luckily she was saved .Now we are very much worried about her and always any one will accompany her so that she does not take any drastic steps.What can i do as a friend to help her and see her happy as before

only time is going to heal the pain. why did the boy not stand up or himself if he loved her. if the parents had the kind of hold on him maybe they would of made life hard for her. i know how some in laws are they still think they know how to run there childrens life and the husband/wifes life also
