We are staying in our own home!

The lady from the home services was over here this morning, she took a look at our hallway, and our bungalow, and said with a few alterations, we can get our house fixed up. She has ordered a hospital bed, and a power chair for my husband and they will be paid for. In the meantime, a friend of ours is looking into getting us a ramp built by some contractors in our church. The power chair will take some time, because we have to have the ramp built first, and we can rent a wheel chair in the meantime if we have to go somewhere. And most of it is either free or paid by the income tax! So we do not have to move!

I am so happy for you. I so believe in the power of prayer and along with me, so many of your friends here at Mylot have been praying for you. This is wonderful news and the bed and the p[owerchair will make such a difference inboth your life and that of your husband's. This is such terrific news. You both must be so happy. Many, many blessings

Now we are waiting to see when they can start building the ramp. We need a permit from the city and someone to build it as our door is not wide enough for a wheelchair but it is for a power chair.

He was afraid that the halls were not big enough, and that we could not pay for it all, but Blue Cross is picking up a lot, and the rest is paid by our provincial government. They want people to stay in their own homes and that is best and we have our friends here.

The lady came back and thought that the powerchair would not be wide enough, but we had the halls remeasured, and we have plenty of room. And my husband has some ideas of putting in an insuite so we do not have to go out the hall to go to the washroom.

Hey that is great! I am so glad to hear that..I know how hard it would have been to move since I help my mom move on a regular basis. She reminds me a of the wondering gypsies. I am wishing a speedy ramp be made so you and your hubby will be able to go places easier once he gets his power chair.

That is wonderful! I am so happy for you and your family : ) Moving is the worst and wish it on no one. The boxing stuff up is such hard work and I always break things in the move no matter how careful I try to be. The power chair will help so much. It is so nice to see those who need help get it. Take care and I hope they get you fixed up soon ;)

I remember when my step-daughter was in her car accident, and when my grandmother had some problems getting in and out of the house, and with her health, that in both cases, a lot of wonderful adaptations were done to the house. It is really great what can be done these days to keep people in their own homes.
