so this is the oddest questionare you will ever have. Let's say a giant asteroid is about to hit the earth, It then orbits in a retrograde orbit around the earth for two days & minorly causes effects with tides. Thw world breaks out with mass hysteria about the world ending. But what if we only thought it was the end & nothing happended except the asteroid moved out of orbit & into the sun. How do you think we as a people would of acted, & what would be the after math?

This would depend on how much publicity this event was given. If this information was released to the media and the media gave it mass coverage, I imagine that if that were the case there were mass riots and hysteria throughout the world. After a few days and the world hadn't ended the remaining world populous would pick itself up, dust itself off, and try to return to some sort of status quo. Depending on how torn up verious parts of the world became, it may or may not may not be possible for the world to do so. Personally, I would probably look at it as something of a joke or some sort of unfriendly conspiracy the government was perpetrating on the world. I dhow theyoubt that in the United States we would see much more than martial law and perhaps a run on the grocery stores, probably not the banks. Although I do not know Europe as well I see much the same reaction there. In other countries, I am less sure. I don't know how they would respond to such news, or how their governments would deal with the news.
On a second thought, I think that everyone in the United States would sit glued to the television or the internet waiting for updays, while going about their daily lives. As NASA contiuted to update the nation of the progress of the Astroid, the country would shug is shoulders and get on with the day. They may be a few strange pronouncements from various clergy, who would continue to discuss this in the terms that they imagined the meaning of the incident.
In other words, I doubt that they wold such an event would have any more effect on the world than it would have had 3 or 4 hundred years ago.
