I turned my first fraud case into Yahoo mail. It was an e-mail which was set up to look like it came from Yahoo Mail Official staff. It asked for information about my secure information in regards to my e-mail site and said if I didn't respond within 2 days I would loose my e-mail address. It just didn't look right so I contacted Yahoo
and they walked my through the process of identifying the sender and reporting to them so that they could investigate and correct the problem. They were very helpful and took care of the problem. This made me even happier with Yahoo.

Hmm, I have been receiving this kind of emails for me to provide my personal details so that I can not get my email being closed. I never gave an ear to them.
Well done, if you little step can cause fear inside peopole who are spreading fraud informations.

You definitely did the right thing by reporting it. I didn't used to report phishing emails. I would just delete them. That was up until last year. Now I always report these emails to the proper people so in the very least the sites and phishing attempts can be disabled.

I usually just turn in the problem e-mail to spoof@yahoo.com. The same with Phishing on my PayPal account.

That's great. I received a similar email claiming to be from PayPal which was clearly a fraud. Like you, I reported it but I have not heard anything back. It is nice that Yahoo followed your report through and sorted out the situation. I wish I had received the same treatment from PayPal. I'm still waiting.

Internet is information heaven and highway, but Internet is no a safe heaven. No one could govern over Internet yet, there are no police could give you a ticket for furious drive. This condition also apply for those people with bad intention.
To be safe surfing the net, we have to take care of ourself. We must precaution and don't take everything granted.
Just remember, be cautious and do not believe anything until verified.

Thats great savypat. I received such email/notification too. I knew something isnt right so I just deleted it right away. It so sad that fraud and scams are so widespread over the internet. I made a new email account that separates my personal from business/pleasure. I hope by that way I can protect my privacy and my financial aspect.

Hey pat! That was a very smart thing! And a very good catch!
I'm not sure that I would have been as "savy", hence your
name! That sounds really scary! How dare someone try to scam
you like that! I will have to be alot more careful myself. I
tend to not pay attention sometimes when I should. Thanks for
the tip.
