Depression is never a happy topic to discuss. It is a senseitive issue for those who have dealth with it personally, or in the lives of loved ones. some people say depression is a mental or physical illness. Whatever is the case, its a sickness that one should get rid off and fast. If one is faced with such illness they should talk to someone who understand what they are feeling and can help address the situation. One should make sure that they find out what causes their depression and changes that can be make to improve the way one feel.

I was in major depression for a few years. I have to say that if it was not for medication bringing me out of it I don't know where I would be.
Not only does it cause a cloud of dark gloom in your life, but it also zaps every bit of energy out of you. You want to do things but you can't. It is totally disabling.
Everything is magnafied while in depression, meaning very overwhelming. You can only take baby steps throughout the day, meaning maybe doing the dishes, otherwise it will cause great anxiety.
I will never forget the day my medication kicked in, I woke up at 12 midnight, and I knew something was different, I felt as if I were inside a bubble, peeking out thinking to myself, oh my god is it okay for me to step out of this bubble, I was happy but then again I was afraid, it had been so long since I had felt I guess what you would call a little okay.
However I did not get back to complete normal feelings and day to day life for a few weeks, but now I am fine. I take 75 mg of zoloft and 1/2 tablet of anxiety medication. My anger is gone, something that goes along with depression, and I mean extreme anger. I also went to a therapist and talking with her helped also.
If anyone out there has major depression it is very difficult to get people to understand what you are going through, because depression is totally different than let's say stress. You cannot fix depression by changing a situation.
Let's say you hate your job it is making what most people call depressed. Well if you get another job and you are no longer "Depressed" then it was not depression to begin with it was stress. I hope I am making sense. people with real depression will know what I am talking about.
If anyone out there wants to talk about their depression I am here to try and help, because I know the overwhelming feelings it causes, and you feel as if you could die, or at least I did. but not now.
I hope this helps someone out there, and at least help people that don't understand depression get a clearer picture.
Thanks Lora

It certainly is a killer, it slowly eats you, eats your mind... a thing that hard to break...
