Eliminating Soft Drinks to Help With Weight Loss

Until recently, I didn't realize that I consumed such a large amount of soft drinks throughout the day. I'm awake typically 18-20 hours each day and I was drinking well over 2L of Mt Dew per day. Upon realizing this, I've cut down to between 8 and 16 oz per day if I take any at all. Although the purpose was to help slow calorie intake, I try to drink more juice or water. I realize that a cup of orange juice has almost the same amount of calories, but at least there's some nutritional value to it. I was wondering if anyone else noticed significant weight loss when eliminating soft drinks from your day to day, along with excercise of course. What kind of weight loss did you experience? Did you experience caffeine withdrawl?

I drink a lot of soda, I mean ALOT!!! Like a 12 pack or more a day. I am 5ft 4in and could not understand for the life of me why I was 160 pounds and wearing a size 10-12 til my sister convinced me to switch to diet soda, it was hard but I did it and lost 40 pounds in less than 3 months.

I have noticed a change in my figure since i cut out soft drinks. My lower tummy became smaller. I used to drink soft drinks every meal. Now I only drink soft drinks if there is no juice or water around. I also tried water therapy before. This really helped me on my diet! I got thin within a week! :) well I did this with some cardio. It really did work. I want to have this therapy again..but I can't right now because I am always tired from work and I need to eat right for my work.

Soft drinks contain lots of sugar in it. It's natural to gain more weight if we drink too much of it. I used to love cola and my weight was way than normal. After switching to yogurt or juice drink, my weight has lessen bit by bit.
