Agree to get rated +?

You are rite one should not rate any response negative just for the fact that he doesn't agrees with your opinion, every genuine opinion should be rated positive... but thats not the case here, actually here are some interests where one can be sure of getting more negative than positive, one of them is our country's section where most are heated discussions, and i feels you are gonna this one negative too...lol

Hi jasmeetsingh! I'm not sure how you know whether users are rating negatively as it is not possible to see it. I know some users do say how they have rated but even then we cannot be sure. You are so right that we should not rate negative just because we disagree. This is what we are told in the FAQs: [i]'What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that post a negative rating? Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a post, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions.'[/i] It would be a sad world if we all agree on everything and it is great to see when users do state their opinion when it is not the same as the majority. I rate them plus for having the courage to do so even when I may not be in agreement!

Generally i do not rate anyone negative, i do not like to do so but onetime that happened accidentally. To your point rating negative if the response is unrelated to discussion might be good for its uses but i think it would be fine to comments on those to be aware of it.
